CACI is looking for a Software Engineering Manager to work in our National Security & Innovative Solutions sector, supporting our Photonics division. Manage and lead a diverse team of software engineers working on advanced photonic systems for free-space optical communications, remote sensing, and other applications in support of U.S. Government and commercial customer missions.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Recruit and hire staff, manage career development and training, and plan and schedule staff across multiple programs in a rapidly growing matrix organization.

  • Collaborate with department senior leadership team and other engineering discipline leads to meet the near-term and long-term goals of the department.

  • Identify and oversee the implementation of process improvements for software development and test.

  • Serve as a software technical lead and subject matter expert on customer-funded programs and internal research and development efforts. Interface directly with customers and present at program milestone reviews as the software discipline representative. Monitor software task progress across programs, and collaborate with program managers to track schedules and budgets for software tasks.

  • Contribute to new business development and proposals as a software subject matter expert, conceptualizing technical solutions and providing detailed estimates of resources and schedules.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Experience leading software development teams and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Experience with object-oriented software design and development in C/C++ for embedded platforms.

  • Experience working with high reliability hardware.

  • Experience working in military or space application environment and with associated industry standards and mission assurance requirements.

  • Experience through the full software development lifecycle of complex systems, including requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation, test, and post-delivery support.

  • Experience preparing documentation for customer deliverables, including Software Requirements Documents, Software Design Documents, Interface Control Documents, Software Test Plans, Microsoft Project, requirements tracking, and milestone reviews such as Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR) and Critical Design Reviews (CDR).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • Typically has a University Degree (BS/BA/BE) and minimum 10 years of related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • Experience working on US Government customer programs is desired but not required.

  • Experience with optical systems is desired but not required.
