CACI is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to help support our Photonics Solutions business unit, within our Technology Innovation and Labs (TIL) Division. Under general direction, you will support engineering documentation, quality assurance and configuration management for software and firmware in support of customer missions.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Develop, modify, and apply quality principles to the development and use of software and software-based systems for make and/or buy software products

  • Support the Photonics Solutions business unit with implementation and maintenance of an AS9100-compliant quality system.

  • Review software products and processes for compliance to contract requirements and software directives, and review work practices for adequacy.

  • Conduct and document review of engineering materials related to the design and release of software artifacts

  • Assists in configuration management activities such as software product release and change control boards.

  • Assists with review of deviations and waivers to the software baseline. Improves products and processes and manage risk.

  • Monitors or witnesses test activity to established test plans and procedures.

  • Assists with verification of test results to performance requirements.

  • Participates as an active member of Failure Review Boards which includes the disposition of non-conformances, identifying containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

  • Perform assessments, verification, and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, procedures and applicable standards

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure software quality processes are established, communicated, and adhered to

  • Participate in quality-related initiatives to improve processes, investigate and qualify tools and infrastructure.

  • The SQE will be expected to interface with suppliers, program personnel, senior management and, in some cases, directly with the customer on quality related issues and audits

  • Ability to analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex.

  • If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the job.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems

  • Knowledge of and experience in Software Quality Engineering and the applicable standards is preferred (AS9115, CMMI, etc)

  • Knowledge in the areas of design, production, product evaluation and reliability, inspection/test, and/or contract review as they apply to Software/Firmware and process quality.

  • Knowledge of and experience in one or more of the following core areas: Embedded Software, Firmware, Supplier Software, Open Source Software, Software Metrics and Analysis, Software development lifecycles, Software Configuration management and/ or Software Verification and Validation

  • Experience in developing and implementing quality processes and documentation.

  • Must Be A US Citizen.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and a minimum of 3 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and related experience.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Blackbelt, or similar certification preferred.

  • Experience with optical devices and optical fiber a plus.
