What You’ll Get to Do:
The Medical Materiel Enterprise Standardization Office (MMESO) Program within Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Logistics (MEDLOG) is looking for a Data Analyst, preferably with experience in DOD medical supply chain operations, who is interested in a challenging, dynamic and intellectually stimulating work environment.
The purpose of the MMESO Program is to facilitate the selection and sourcing of clinically vetted materiel for use across the Military Health System (MHS) in order to improve clinical outcomes, enhance readiness and training, control costs, and improve interoperability.
As a Data Analyst, you will apply your technical expertise and problem solving skills while working collaboratively with our Clinical Analysts to address gaps in data quality that impact program efficiency and effectiveness and maximize the benefits of standardization for DHA MEDLOG and the MHS.
More About the Role:
Utilize your expertise of MMESO databases and MHS system data to manage external data feeds, integrate data into existing database platforms, facilitate data facets of the standardization process and perform analysis.
Analyze procurement and inventory data to identify medical supply items that align with the scope of existing Standardization Actions.
Update product information within MMESO databases and standard item cross reference
Document discrepancies in item identifiers, attributes and/or industry product categorization based on verified product information.
Provide recommendations for master item data corrections in accordance with the system owners’ procedures to Senior Data Analyst and PM for quarterly reports
Coordinate with the Implementation and Communication Team on findings that impact current Incentive Agreements or product conversion at the end-user level
Provide regular reports and briefings to Program leadership on project status, performance
Build required contract deliverable reporting as needed or ad-hoc reporting upon request
Identify, analyze, and interpret data trends or patterns in complex datasets
Identify process gaps and recommend enhancements to Senior Data Analyst for review
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Management or other similar technical field
5+ years combined experience in data analyst and/or functional analyst roles preferably in medical logistics
Strong understanding of data models, database design development and data mining
Knowledge of and experience with relational databases and building queries to retrieve and analyze data (Microsoft Access, SQL, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience using software to create or analyze datasets (Excel, Access, etc.)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
Basic knowledge of computer programming
At a minimum Proficient Skill Level in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
Must be able to clearly communicate data and concepts in written and verbal formats both within internal working groups and to external stakeholders.
Strong ability to manage several complex tasks in a timely, effective manner.
Demonstrated ability to be proactive, think independently, and work collaboratively with a multi-functional team
Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass a favorable National Agency Check with Local Law and Credit (NACLC)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Understanding of DOD medical supply chain/logistics operations;
Experience using Defense Medical Logistics information systems
Experience in computer programming; knowledge and experience with VBA is desired.
Experience using Microsoft Teams or other virtual collaboration platforms
