Job Description

CACI is seeking a Sr. Field Service Engineer- Distributed Common Ground System - Army (DCGS-A) at Fort Hood, TX. If you are looking to play a key role in establishing procedures for the maintenance of data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers for a distinct group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe CACI would like to speak with you. .

What you will get to do:

  • Participate in the upgrade of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.

  • Provide input for documentation on new or existing systems.

  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system problems.

  • Responsible for system security and data integrity

  • Provide documentation and remediation of IA findings

  • Performs post software installation upgrades and IAVA patching

  • Monitor and define the use of resources, and work with management to define requests for information assurance

  • Configure and maintain user accounts; resolve user account issues for client workstations and servers

  • Provide system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to junior systems engineers

  • Participate in special projects as required

  • Maintain and install Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Linux, ESXI and VMWare software operating systems and application software , patching, and upgrading

  • Provide software sustainment and reporting data to customers and program management.

  • Manage the security, functionality and efficiency of networked computers executing multiple operating systems

  • Develop plans and schedules

  • Work with and assist local teams of field software service engineers and field service analysts

  • Willingness to travel up to 70% of time

More About the Role:

You will identify, manage and execute process improvement in support of improving DCGS-A support efforts. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to users on DCGS-A systems and support multiple end-users at Brigade/Division level.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience and 10 years of related experience

  • Familiarity with the Global Broadcast System (GBS)

  • Experience with the One System Remote Viewing Terminal (OSRVT), Surveillance and Control Data Link (SCDL)

  • Security + Certified

  • Experience with AM/FM communications, and Global Positioning System (GPS)

  • Familiarity with GeoSpatial analysis, Video Processing Capability (VPC), and Moving Target Indicator (MTI) applications

  • Familiarity with CISCO switches to include but not limited to setting up trunkports, Access Control Lists (ACL), and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN)
