We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Administrator to who has a current TS/SCI to come join our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland to work with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As the Help Desk System Administrator, you will join the team and be responsible for providing Tier 2/3 support for the users operating in a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Duties include, but are not limited to managing helpdesk triage, active directory account creations, PKI request, workstation and VOIP installations, and troubleshooting Tier 2 VDI incidents/issues and MS Exchange. The Help Desk System Administrator will also be responsible for daily monitoring and provide infrastructure support for the DISA YLAN team.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Receiving initial help desk call or email inquiries and create a ticket.

  • Conducting initial assessment to triage incidents/issues or providing assistance to Tier 1 team member.

  • Use your technical expertise to troubleshoot and resolve issues/incidents. This may include hardware, software, PKI issues and VDI environment support.

  • Create Active Directory user accounts and manage associated functions; password resets, drive mapping, disabling accounts and basic user account troubleshooting.

  • Create MS Exchange email accounts.

  • Provide step-by-step assistance to customers when required, such as initial PKI implementation.

  • Responsible for resolving escalated incidents/issues from Tier 1 support.

  • Proficient with Active Directory, exchange and DNS

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.

  • Conduct workstation and VOIP installations.

  • Provide support to COOP sites if required.

  • Track and follow-up on all generated tickets and present new requirements request to the requirements board for approval.

  • Provide system administration duties to support other functional areas within the infrastructure when necessary.

  • Knowledge of administering Servers/workstations/applications in a virtual environment.

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or IT/Computer Science and/or 4+ years of experience in related field.

  • Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Windows 7/10.

  • Experience in all of the following technologies: VDI environment, MS Active Directory, MS Exchange, and Group Policy

  • CompTIA Security+ or higher.

  • Oral and written communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • ACAS experience
