What You’ll Get to Do:

As the technical lead for Special Programs, you will exercise your planning expertise across a range of responsibilities. In this role you will

  • Support current and future planning with Special Technical Operations (STO)/Special Access Program (SAP) and Information Operations.

  • Maintain awareness of all cyberspace capabilities integrated into deliberate, contingency, operation, and crisis action planning. Contribute to the development of exercise scenarios and exercise operational plans.

  • Provide input to briefings, transitioning concepts to execution, and assisting in the coordination of joint operational planning in support of training, exercises, combat, and contingency plans and operations.

More About the Role:

  • Provide extensive technical expertise, lead, and participates in all phases of the JOPP and APEX activities.

  • Contribute STO/SAP and information operations input to USCYBERCOM operational planning teams (OPTs) and joint planning groups (JPGs), and develop the STO/SAP and information operations annexes and appendices.

  • Ensure full coordination of special program capabilities. Coordinate cyberspace operations planning activities through the Integrated Joint Special Technical Operations (IJSTO).

  • Provide extensive technical expertise for the development of TTPs, CONOPs, COAs, and other documents related to cyberspace operations.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • 10 years as a Joint Operation Planner and a complete working knowledge of the JOPP, JOPES, and APEX planning formats and guidance

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university

  • Specialized education in military joint operation planning through the JPME II. (A similar military operation planning courses may be substituted for JPME II.)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, excellent communications skills, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Three years of leading and directing the work of others in an operational planning environment.

  • Ability to pass an additional layer of security review and adherence to need-to-know and material contribution criteria.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Completion of a STO Planners Course.

  • Minimum of two years of experience working in a STO/SAP environment.
