What You’ll Get to Do:
As a CACI-Wexford Data Scientist, you will be the Subject Matter Expert responsible for researching and presenting current and future developments in data analytics, big data, large language models, natural language processing, computer vision, etc. This position is in support of the execution of monthly design workshops hosted by US Army North G5 focused on describing the Homeland Defense operational environment out to 2040. During the monthly workshops you will be responsible for conducting senior leader presentations and writing academic publications. You will create documents on the Future of Homeland Defense which pertain to your field of study and assist other experts as requested, all documents will be archived with the Army North G5 Integration, Experimentation & Assessments Division staff, workshop planners and subject matter experts. You will support through your expertise the editing and formatting of documents as well as assist in the establishment and management of project document repository while ensuring to adhere to customer’s style guide and formatting standards.
More About the Role:
You will have direct access to the US Army North staff, a graphic designer, a technical writer and subject matter experts from academia and private industry to formulate a complete understanding of the current and future Homeland Defense operational environments. You will provide support to Army North staff to facilitate the high-quality production of graphics. Draft and edit graphics in correspondence that support Army North Homeland Defense policy, engagements, and out-reach programs. Assist planners in designing and drafting workshop vignettes, and detailed scenarios. You will also assist in compiling, editing, and production of after-action reports (AAR) and Lessons Learned products.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
DoD Secret clearance is required.
Must be a US citizen.
Possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
More than three years of experience with high-level languages, including Java.
More than two years of experience with distributed scalable Big Data storage, including Accumulo, Cloudbase, HBase, or Bigtable.
Experience in MapReduce programming with Apache Hadoop, the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), and processing large data stores.
Experience with using Agile software development methods in a DevOps environment.
Experience with a real-time, large-scale data processing engine, including Apache Spark.
Experience with developing solutions and integrating and extending free and Open-source software (FOSS) or COTS products.
Publication of peer reviewed articles and/or documents in your chosen field of study
Willing to travel on weekends; must be able to attend design workshops.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience, or associate degree and seven years of experience, or nine years of relevant work experience.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with intelligence or operations analysis in the DoD or Intelligence Community.
Experience with deploying applications in a Cloud environment.
Experience with designing and developing automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
Experience with open-source software, including GeoWave and MapReduce Geo (MrGEO).
Ability to work independently with some government oversight and function effectively as part of a team in a joint working environment.
