CACI International System Engineer / Project Lead in Hanover, Maryland
Duties and Responsibilities
CACI is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide Project/Task Management and System Engineering support to a small team developing a software application that processes and transfers data between locations. The system is comprised of multiple components that combine to provide a data transport service using cloud resources.
The System Engineer will provide overall project planning and monitoring of the effort. This includes working with stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, schedules, and deliverables; developing, executing, and reporting on project plans; defining, mitigating, and monitoring risks; developing presentations and briefings on all aspects of the project; participating in milestone and/or final project reviews; and developing and reporting on financial and resource needs and status. The Systems Engineer will act as a Project Task Manager and interface with other offices within the client's organization to ensure that the needs of these offices are met in order to obtain buy-in and approvals.
As the Technical Lead, the System Engineer will provide overall technical planning of the effort, including requirements capture and analysis, technical trade studies, use case development, architecture development, test planning, deployment planning, performance measurement and analysis, operations and maintenance planning, and technical documentation. The System Engineer will add support to the test team for managing and executing end-to-end integration tests and scenarios.
In addition, the candidate will manage and track all project development and test resources to include hardware resources, software resources, commercial cloud resources and network resources, including associated licensing and vendor supported contracts. The candidate will work with security POCs for maintaining project related SSPs and related security resources and procedures.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to the computer engineering or computer science disciplines is required.
5 years System Engineering experience. An additional 4+ years of System Engineering experience may be substituted for the degree for a total of 9 years. (Flexible to accommodate more senior candidates)
Experience leading a small team of technical professionals
Knowledge of system and software development lifecycles
Experience analyzing and managing customer requirements
Experience developing system level documentation
Ability to work independently to prioritize tasks, develop work estimates and develop and monitor schedules.
Able to clearly communicate ideas and status updates to management
Ability to clearly communicate issues with software developers
Technical writing skills
Ability to work well with a small team on a fast-paced development project
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Knowledgeable with basic Linux and Windows OS commands
One year of experience with Spring Framework and Spring Integration
Understanding of Agile development concepts
Basic exposure to cloud computing concepts
Basic familiarity with cryptography concepts
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
