CACI is searching for a Sr. Business Development Manager with a successful track record in identifying and qualifying engineering services, research and development, and program office contract opportunities within the Naval systems community. The ideal candidate will have a documented track record identifying, qualifying, shaping, and winning work in support of NAVSEA, particularly the Naval Warfare Centers. Additional experience in NAVWAR, NAVAIR, and their respective engineering labs is highly desirable.
The primary focus of this role will be on the identification, development, qualification, and capture of large, strategic opportunities, valued at over $75M each, while building and maintaining a qualified pipeline of opportunities. You will work closely with the Executive Director of Business Development to create an overall account strategy and plan that focuses on positioning and capturing new business contracts. The ideal candidate will be based at one of our Northern Virginia locations with 25% spent on business travel within the continental United States.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Build and Qualify Navy Market Business Pipeline. Your primary focus is to build/maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities that align with CACI’s strategic vision for growth within Government marketplace.
Create, manage, and implement market strategies (to articulate and generate consensus for strategic vision, action plan, competitive intelligence, investments, business case, etc.) within the targeted markets and agencies.
Develop and present milestone briefings to senior leadership in support of investing in and pursuing strategic opportunities in these markets.
Engage customers in identifying and shaping opportunities. This includes active communication of filtered, actionable intelligence back to Sector, BD, and functional group staff.
Actively market the Company Brand, establish customer expectations, and shape opportunities by creating white papers, sponsoring in-house demonstrations, and responding to RFIs and similar activities. You will conceptualize the need, organize the correct company participants, and lead the collaboration to completion.
Support Captures and Proposals to maintain continuity across the BD lifecycle, enhancing our ability to win as opportunities pass from qualification into capture and then proposal.
Effective leader/participant in formal presentations to clients and potential teaming partners.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
5+ years performing Business Development (sales, marketing, capture, proposal) activities, especially in the areas described above.
12+ years relevant experience as part of, or in support of, the organizations responsible for researching, designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining Naval systems.
Existing, established network of customer contacts in the markets described above.
Familiarity with major Naval system programs and upcoming initiatives relevant markets.
Working knowledge of the Federal procurement process (including ID/IQs, OTAs, BAAs, and other acquisition instruments).
Demonstrated proficiency with Department of Defense and US Navy strategy.
Strong knowledge of naval architecture and engineering; integrated combat systems and C4ISR systems.
Understanding of MBSE/Digital Twin; Cyber; ISR Systems Integration; and, Tactical/Mission Software/Systems engineering, sustainment.
Proven track record of building winning teams as well as successfully negotiating with potential team members.
Exceptional MS Office usage skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
Exceptional professional communication skills (both written and verbal).
Experience developing client-ready written products to include whitepapers, capability briefings, and proposals.
MUST have an active Secret clearance.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Formal training in the Shipley capture process is strongly desired.
At least 5 years on the “sell side” of Naval systems.
Detailed insight NAVSEA future maritime programs is strongly desired.
Top Secret clearance is highly desirable.
