Job Description

What You’ll Get to Do:

Your primary responsibility of the Systems Engineer (SE) is to maintain the knowledge of On-line Analytical Processing (OLAP) tools such as Splunk, Microsoft Power BI and Tableau.

You will also be responsible for gathering analytical requirements and working with Cyber subject management experts to develop data frameworks for data analysis to support end-user data discovery.

You would bring expertise in developing and coding data visualizations to partner with cyber analysts for delivering work products featuring insightful data visualizations at scale (i.e., to large audiences and engineering components) via dashboards, reports, portals, and key presentations. You would apply refined and practiced aesthetic judgment to work products in ways that enhance appeal, usability, presentation, and adherence to design conventions and standards to help us achieve engineering and strategy goals.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support Cyber SME by helping to identify new cyber vulnerabilities and attack vectors by collating and analyzing data from a multitude of data repositories and cyber tools.

  • Collaborate with engineers and senior managers regarding the nature of the system vulnerabilities and recommended remediation steps.

  • Ability to use various COTS and custom platforms to gather statistic to proactively scan the enterprise for vulnerabilities and malware.

  • Apply, as appropriate, activity and data modeling, transaction flow analysis, internal control and risk analysis and modern business methods and performance measurement techniques.

  • Assist in establishing standards for information systems procedures.

  • Design and develop data models that optimize analytical reporting performance.

  • Build reports, dashboards, and OLAP databases to support end-user reporting and information requirements.

  • Perform statistical analyses on data and predictive forecasting.

  • Analyze and interpret results using statistical techniques.

  • Interpret trends or patterns in complex and data sets.

  • Cultivate and apply refined aesthetic judgment to designing functional and appealing data visualizations emphasizing simplicity and rapid comprehension by a variety of audiences including engineers and executive level senior managers.

  • Contribute to design conventions and standards for data visualizations that embody and promote common team branding and identity.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be able to integrate data across a wide variety security applications, software tools, data repositories and indexes.

  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency in running software queries via MySQL, Splunk, and deriving relevant data from Security information and event management tools.

  • Develop and execute PowerShell scripts.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Experience with:

  • Working in a Cyber Program Environment

  • Engineering products in accordance with the PMF

  • Leading, organizing, and reporting on team projects

  • Working and collaborating with Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT).


  • Familiarity working with COTS related security application suites (McAfee, Symantec etc.).

In-depth knowledge working with Security Information Event Management systems.


Splunk Certification (Desired)

Education and Experience Requirements:

Candidate must have one of the following:

• 6 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma

• 4 Years of job related experience and Associate degree

• 2-3 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree

• 1 Year of job related experience and Master’s degree
