What You’ll Get to Do:

The principal function of the Systems Engineer position is to be responsible for the Customer’s technical platform infrastructure and to provide a high quality, secure and resilient platform that supports the Customer's business needs.

This position is primarily responsible for engineering Microsoft Windows builds for the enterprise to include updates to existing Windows versions and also any new versions to be released in the future. The Systems Engineer must be able to create, modify, deploy and troubleshoot task sequences in Microsoft Configuration Manager (CM). The Systems Engineer must also be able to add hardware drivers through CM for new workstation models that the customer plans to acquire. Having a general working knowledge of Windows to help troubleshoot general user issues is required.

In addition, the Systems Engineer will analyze system capacity and throughput requirements in response to demand forecasts and operations trends to determine, plan, and provide for system capabilities required for projected workloads.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Being knowledgeable in multiple current technology areas, including client/server computer operating systems (thick & thin clients), networking hardware, protocols and administration, and system integration across multi-tiered highly secure IT environments.

  • Recognize and recommend new or emerging technology or software to satisfy functional requirements and processes.

  • Provide highly technical and/or specialized guidance concerning automation solutions to complex information processing problems related to the subject field.

  • Provide customer support using enterprise solutions software to integrate business areas, consistent with today’s technology in order to operate in an open systems environment and client service architectures.

  • Understand the engineering life cycle to include requirements gathering, solutions design, testing, documentation, and implementation.

  • Have experience with updating Windows drivers through Microsoft Configuration Manager.

  • Have experience with OSD deployment and MS Configuration Manager.

  • Have experience with creating, updating, and maintaining task sequences in Microsoft Windows builds.

  • Have experience with deploying and troubleshooting task sequences.

  • Possess general knowledge of MS Windows to include performance monitoring.

  • Have ability to create and modify PowerShell and Visual Basic scripts.

  • Have ability to create standard operation procedures.

  • Possess well-developed technical and analytical skills to work closely with Service Partners to troubleshoot and identify broken processes or resolutions to trouble incidents via ESMT and submit Change Request’s for global enterprise implementation.

  • Perform Quality Control check planning, integration, validation, of Field Deployment via applications, patches, security updates, and other customer deployments.

  • Perform script verification checks – review event logs, review back logs, training, and documentation maintenance. Navigate in ELAN and Production systems for validation purposes of engineering scripts.

  • Provide technical guidance, training, and leadership for current / new operations and engineering personnel.

  • Provide staff and users with assistance solving computer related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems.

  • Test, maintain, and monitor computer programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of computer programs and systems.

  • Provide Tier III & IV technical support and leadership in a complex mission critical windows based environment.

Required Skills:

  • Hands on experience with Windows Server 2008/2012

  • Hands on experience with Windows 7 and 10

  • Experience with VMWare and Hyper-V

  • Hands on experience with SCCM 1706 or later

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory

  • Scripting experience with PowerShell

  • Solid troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to self-learn, act on own initiative and work in a dynamic environment

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are required

  • Strong customer service skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • MCSE/MCITP certifications are a plus

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure.

  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2016

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • 10 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma

  • 8 Years of job related experience and Associate degree

  • 4-7 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree

  • 3 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree

  • 2 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
