CACI International Radar Engineer in Hill Air Force Base, Utah
Join CACI's Aerospace Solutions Group in supporting radar range upgrade and modernization programs for the U.S. Air Force. Be a part of the multi-disciplined engineering team that designs, develops and demonstrates next generation automated test systems that enable Government maintenance technicians to diagnose and repair the fire control radar antennas and radomes found on fighter aircraft. This radar engineering position entails developing and integrating microwave/RF measurement systems that are tightly coupled to precision motion control systems. Position is at Hill AFB, in Utah.
What You'll Get to Do:
Work as a member of an integrated product team to develop and deliver Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and Test Program Set (TPS) hardware and software as a part of a system solution
Design, develop, integrate, and validate nose radome and fire control radar antenna range upgrades
Assess the performance of the existing antenna positioner systems by performing physical inspections and conducting a series of electro-mechanical system diagnostic routines as appropriate
Plan for absorption material upgrades and equipment repositioning as needed to reduce or eliminate RF interference inside test chambers
Perform incremental RF tracking subsystem testing to ensure the proposed designs function properly in the chamber environment
Develop RF calibration routines, using a vector network analyzer, to fully characterize all cabled RF paths
Develop integration and acceptance test procedures
Participate in document and code peer reviews to ensure conformance, correctness and quality of all delivered products
Participate in ATE/TPS hardware and software design activities
Integrate and troubleshoot ATE/TPS hardware and software
Develop ATE/TPS requirements, design and test documents
Qualifications You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree (Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering) and two or more years of related experience
Microwave/RF measurement experience
Windows 10 and/or Linux based computer systems and software development tool
Be able to obtain a US Secret clearance
Qualifications That Are Nice to Have
Operating PNA-X Microwave Network Analyzers
Developing and evaluating RF trackers for sequential-lobe tracking radars or monopulse phased array radar systems
Tuning precision pointing and tracking systems
Software development using MATLAB, Simulink or ANSI-C
Development of ATE and TPS for aircraft electrical, mechanical or avionics systems
Experience with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management systems
