What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is looking for a Simulation Software Engineer to work with NASA's human-rated spacecraft simulations in support of our Nation’s exploration of space at NASA / Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Candidates should have strong interest in spacecraft simulation, enjoy working with software, and most of all, have great desire to contribute to the space program.

This work involves the development and support of core simulation infrastructure tools and support for math model and simulation, development, and integration on Linux PC platforms using the Trick© Simulation Environment and Development Toolkit developed by CACI. Individual will develop new capabilities for Trick© and provide user support to developers of high-fidelity simulation math models. The ideal candidate has strong software skills across multiple languages.

This work takes place in a highly stimulating environment and is critical in the human space exploration initiative. The position requires a self-motivated, capable person with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise. Finally, the most qualified candidate will be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner, must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program, and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles.

More About the Role:

Job Responsibilities will include:

  • Development, integration, and testing of the Trick© Simulation Environment and Development Toolkit.

  • Provide user support and guidance for simulation model development and integration.

  • Debug, test, and verification work with Trick©, simulation math models, and simulation facilities.

  • Teaching software and simulation skills in a classroom environment.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident for access to USG facilities.

  • B.S. in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines required.

  • Experience with C++ and Python.

  • Experience with Unix/Linux OS.

  • Experience with real time software applications.

  • Must be flexible, open to new challenges in a dynamic environment, and possess strong technical expertise combined with strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with little supervision.

  • Must be highly mature and responsible, and team-oriented with strong communication skills and work ethic.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the NASA Johnson Space Center environment.

  • Experience with the NASA / CACI Trick Simulation Environment is highly desirable, but not mandatory.
