BIT Systems is looking for a Test/Support Engineer to work with a technically diverse team that develops software-based signal processing applications. In this role, the candidate will provide expertise in support of software development team to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for software components and systems. The candidate will also provide on-site liaison/support between factory development/testing and site operators to promote better customer and factory communications. This will be accomplished by interpreting customers' needs, defining next steps, and by clarifying the assignment and responsibility for problem resolution with the aid of factory staff.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Develop and maintain system verification procedures to include test plans, test cases and detailed test procedures, mapped to software and system-level requirements

  • Conduct engineering testing during development of new software features to analyze, diagnose, isolate, and document system failures and anomalies (discrepancies)

  • Test software releases, per documented test procedures, upon code completion and conduct robust regression testing to ensure no broken functionality

  • Investigate and resolve operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel

  • Provide feedback to the developers relating to operational functionality concerns

  • Providing support to developers for investigation of operational issues

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of test plans, test procedures, training materials, and other program documentation as needed

  • Gather, analyze, and report equipment performance metrics

  • Aid in identifying and implementing automated testing for individual servers and systems

  • Provide on-site support, working with operators to identify and characterize issues with new and existing software; insure that the site approved reporting is followed for these issues

  • Identify trends in software or workstation failures. Report observations to the developers

  • Report preliminary information to the factory for any site issues or problems

More About this Role:

  • Responsible for determining optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions in order to assure compliance with applicable specifications. This includes identifying and recommending product or solution characteristics that optimize their ability to be tested or to provide test data for diagnostic purposes.

  • Combines customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints. Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems.

  • Coordinates integrated testing activities.

  • Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program.

  • Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations.

  • Responsible for being a company liaison with the customer on administrative and technical matters.

  • Provide on-site support to the customer including overseeing and/or performing any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting, and service.

  • Interprets customers’ needs, defines next steps, and clarifies the assignment of responsibility for problem resolution with the aid of factory staff.

  • Work with company engineers, developers, testers, and system administrators to resolve customer issues and promote customer communication.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must have a current TS/SCI and the ability to obtained and maintain the required polygraph per customer requirements.

  • Knowledge of commonly-used systems engineering or test concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Experience in the verification and validation of software systems

  • Strong communication skills, analytical/problem solving ability, time management and organizational skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience performing requirements and user needs analysis

  • Troubleshooting software on UNIX/Linux OS

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance

  • Knowledge of test automation tools

  • Scripting proficiency (bash, python, etc.)

  • Knowledge of software products used at the customer’s site

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and related experience
