We are looking for experienced, innovative and motivated IT Specialists to support enablement of AFRICOM, EUCOM and CJTF-HOA’s mission objectives.

What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI has an excellent opportunity for an experienced, self-directed, C2 Systems Admin . This position is in support of a Department of Defense (DoD) organization, US EUCOM located OCONUS in Stuttgart, Germany. This position is required to travel OCONUS.

The C2 Sys Admin maintains highly available operations of C2 systems and programs of record for high profile customers. Duties will include full lifecycle support of hardware/software infrastructure to support the following programs and systems of record, Global Command and Control Systems - Joint (GCCS-J), Link Management and Monitoring Tool (LMMT), Processing Display Subsystem-Migration (PDS-M), Tactical Receive Suite (TRS). OpenShift container native virtualization is the primary mechanism that used to host virtual machines for the above Programs of Record. The C2 Systems Admin will also work on application integration with directory services, assigning roles, provisioning container runtime environments and storage for container native virtualization, as well as automated provisioning of guest operating systems and applications. Creation and maintenance of configuration items and other related documentation, in approved software version control system. Interfaces with ECJ3/ECJ2 customers in all aspects of GCCS-J and other Programs of Records as required. Monitors system performance and establishes performance baselines. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software. Performs regular backups and tests backups in recovery scenarios. Creates automation playbooks to enforce policies and standards across the C2 infrastructure and enterprise resources where applicable.

More About the Role:

The successful candidate must be able to communicate clearly and succinctly both written and orally, and present products and ideas in a business-like manner. The candidate will be required to work in dynamic fast paced environments that require team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate must be experienced in interfacing with both client managers and system users.

The candidate is responsible for the following activities.

Deploy, configure, and manage C2 server hardware, storage and networking equipment.

Deploy, configure, and manage OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Plus with Data Foundation Advanced.

OCP configuration, upgrade, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting with capability to make one off change and integrate changes into Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline Argo CD/GitLab.

Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure optimal operation.

Implement security measures and best practices to safeguard OpenShift environments.

Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment and troubleshooting.

Administer and maintain various Programs of Records including GCCS-J, LMMT, TRS, and PDS-M.

Ensure seamless integration of C2 systems with OpenShift environments.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users as needed.

Perform regular updates, patches, and configuration changes to C2 systems.

Manage physical servers, storage arrays, and storage switches to ensure reliability and performance.

Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and applications.

Monitor network connectivity and troubleshoot issues to maintain uninterrupted operation.

Store and load COMSEC into radio devices according to established protocols and security guidelines.

Maintain compliance with relevant security standards and regulations.

Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address potential vulnerabilities.

Work with other SATCOM technologies to support mission requirements.

Provide technical expertise on SATCOM systems and assist with troubleshooting and resolution of issues.

Daily duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure COP availability to customer

  • Maintain appropriate backups

  • Install and maintain OCP 4.X, Red Hat Satellite, Ansible Automation Platform, GitLab

  • Maintain database instances (Sybase, PostgreSQL)

  • Perform software updates and remediation scans

  • Perform STIG validation against operating systems, application servers and databases

  • Respond to ECJ3 customer requests which vary widely

  • Create, work, and solve service requests using trouble ticketing system

  • Ensure physical hardware is in working order and redundant

  • Produce and maintain processes and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

  • Maintain application servers. JBoss EAP, Tomcat etc.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot Enterprise Linux OS issues where they arise (RHEL8+)

  • Troubleshoot Agile Client application issues.

Additionally, the C2 team members will provide remote support and/or travel to customer sites as required. Team members will be on a scheduled on-call, and shift work may be required during exercises and contingencies.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Currently hold an adjudicated Top Secret Clearance and be able to obtain an SCI

  • BA/BS + 5 years recent specialized experience

  • DoD 8570.1 Technical Level II Certification

  • One of the following computing environment certifications is required, will accept waiver if completed within 6 months of hire:

  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA)

  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)

  • Linux + VMWare – VCP6-DCV or higher

  • MCP – Windows Server 2019 These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the following areas: Ansible, Puppet, Chef or any other automation system or product

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a shell language such as Bash or Python

  • Prior experience with Programs of Record and command and control systems such as GCCS-J, GCCS-A, GCCS-M, GCCS-AF, DCGS-A, DCGS-M, DCGS-AF
