CACI International Project Planning Support in International, Japan
The focus of this position is to directly support project planning efforts. SRF-JRMC is implementing a Planning Cell to address the planning needs of projects prior to the project team members being assigned. In broad strokes, this includes review of the Availability Work Package (AWP), balancing work assigned within budget available, establishing the initial key event and milestone network, review of individual jobs assigned, development of good work breakdown structure (WBS), schedule development, identification and procurement of long lead time material, identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks, etc. The work will be as part of a team and will include interaction with other codes/department personnel.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Review the Availability Work Package (AWP) to ensure an understanding of the assigned work, and that it makes sense for the specific availability
Help track the quantity of work in the availability to ensure it is within the planned capacity allocated within the Command for that project
Review similar availabilities and extract as much re-usable information as possible from them, including the development of an initial key event and milestone network
Participate in Job Summary reviews to ensure various elements of specific jobs are planned correctly, to include appropriate work breakdown structure WBS), man-hour estimates, durations, material to be ordered, etc.
Identify, help provide procurement information for, and track long lead time and other critical material items to ensure they support schedule needs for specific jobs during the avail
Help develop the project’s network and identify critical and controlling path work
Help identify and assess project risks, and develop mitigation plans to minimize the impact during the availability
Help develop Project Team planning briefs
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Two to four years of related experience (availability planning in a Shipyard or RMC environment
Strong working knowledge of Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) / Maritime Systems Enterprise (MSE) systems
Working knowledge of Execution Priorities and the inputs to that systems logic.
Working knowledge of the principles and processes used for planning and scheduling work in Project Sequencing and Scheduling (PSS).
Specialized experience in one or more of the following areas:
Chief Test Engineer (CTE) /Assistant CTE
Material procurement / supply chain management
Ability and desire to work as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Specifically: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint).
Current Secret Security Clearance.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience on DDGs, CGs and LCC19 platforms
