What You’ll Get to Do

Training Instructor; Engineering will support the NAVSEA Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants’ (USC), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program Office (PMS 525)

More about the role:

Design and teach MMSC/LCS Engineering focused technical courses for International Military Students (IMS) for use on the Readiness Control Officer (RCO)

Console while conducting LCS/MMSC engineering drills, evolutions, and exercises. Serve as the Lead RCO for training, assigning, and leading engineering Instructors/Trainers in scheduling missions, lesson topics reviews, instructor certifications and topic qualifications. Conducts Capstone training events for Crew Certification and changes in the new Training and Readiness Manual. Ensures that all training materials are educationally sound and developed in accordance with required standards and client specifications. Detailed knowledge of curriculum elements, requirements, criteria, and development process. Work with SMEs to identify the need for specific content. Drafts test items to validate objectives and sequence.

You will bring these qualifications:

You’ll leverage your Engineering Training Experience to:

  • 20 years’ experience with USN ships and as a warfare specialist and/or trainer

  • 5 years’ experience as a USN Engineer or Engineering Plant Instructor

  • 4 years’ experience using LCS Engineering principles to drive T2Q and T2C in a shipboard environment or trainer

  • 4 years’ experience developing, organizing, and conducting Engineering systems training and educational programs for RCOs assigned to LCS.

  • 4 years’ experience using conventional knowledge-based classroom teaching and performance-based laboratory training

  • 4 years’ experience establishing and reviewing LCS course content and objectives

  • 4 years’ experience as Main Propulsion Assistant, Repair Officer, and/or Engineering Department LCPO

  • 2 years’ experience in a Gas Turbine and/or Diesel Engine Repair Shop

  • 1 years’ experience working with international students

  • Graduate of the U.S. Navy’s Shipboard Engineering Plant Program Manager

  • Designation as a Journeyman Instructor (JIT) Basic Instructor Automated Classroom and (AEC) (Basic Instructor)

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite programs

  • Ability to lead and work productively with a team of instructors and engineering students

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 15 years’ experience in and Engineering specialty as a substitute

  • Active DoD Secret clearance

  • US Citizenship

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • 1 years’ experience with Security Cooperation/Assistance/Mobile Training Teams International military training experience
