What You’ll Get to Do:

As a Simulation Consultant for the Shipyard AI Capacity Planning team, you will work onsite with the customer to develop shipyard simulation tools that will be used to inform critical decisions and shape the way that the shipyard performs its business. You will study business processes, analyze historical data, and conduct interviews to ensure the simulation tools are correctly crafted and modify the data models when required. You will be teamed with more experienced simulation consultants in a mentoring relationship to develop expertise in delivering customer solutions that lead to improved operational capability/capacity.

More About the Role:

  • Develop customized simulation-based solutions for the shipyard, leading to a tool that allows the customer to make data-based decisions that result in better operational performance.

  • Develop expertise in Lean Production and Six Sigma Quality methods.

  • Conduct training sessions on ProModel simulation products.

  • Maintain relationships with key shipyard personnel.

  • Support, coordinate and manage customer expectations related to simulation products.

  • Perform regular data collection & analysis and utilize the results to adjust data models accordingly.

  • Develop, maintain, and execute communication strategies that include all customer stakeholders.

  • Perform quality work within deadlines, with or without direct supervision.

  • Interact professionally with other employees, customers, and vendors.

  • Work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments.

  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Systems & Industrial Engineering, or a related Engineering degree and 5 years of related experience.

  • Industry experience with ProModel simulation products including ProModel, MedModel and Process Simulator. (Experience with other discrete event simulation software will be considered.)

  • Passionate about providing high quality, impactful solutions to real business opportunities and challenges.

  • Experience with project planning or engineering, ideally in a U.S. Navy, shipbuilding, or other manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation, selection, organization, and presentation of information in a concise and coherent manner.

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding industrial environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.

  • Experience in conducting meetings with senior leadership.

  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to resolve problems.

  • A self-starter who will seize and maintain the initiative in ambiguous situations.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Active security clearance (Secret or higher).

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in VBA programming in Microsoft Excel is a plus. Experience with Microsoft Visio and Project is a plus. Project Management experience is a plus. Experience in automation equipment or controls programming is a plus.

  • Experience in large-scale system implementation efforts following a standard software development lifecycle approach (scrum desired).

  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development and data modeling.

  • Knowledge of industry standard development methodologies and technologies.

  • Training/Certification in Lean and/or Six Sigma.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$70,900 - $148,900
