CACI is seeking a software/systems engineer or analyst who wants to expand their background by being exposed to the capabilities and complexities of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS)/Aegis Combat system (ACS) and learn how to apply source code understanding, software development skills, and analysis techniques to assess operational system impacts, i.e., risks to ships, personnel, and the fleet. This position supports the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) through detailed analysis of multiple Combat System computer programs with the objective of identifying operational risks.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Analyze and review current software change requests and related documentation, including specifications, requirements, interface documents, test documents, and operational guidance.
Assist in the research and analysis of existing systems and program requirements; assist in documenting risks in existing and developmental programs.
Perform detailed operational impact studies and develop analysis reports for delivery to customers.
Assist in identifying operational impacts and quantifying the risks they pose within the AWS and ACS.
Participate in Working Group meetings to identify system capabilities, schedules, and milestones.
More About the Role:
Your assignments are directed by the project’s Technical Lead or Point of Contact (POC). Under the direction of the POC, you will be assigned and expected to complete various tasks from the list above.
You will also participate in various project meetings, at multiple levels.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Sciences (or related field)
Ability to obtain, at minimum, a Secret Level Security Clearance.Active Secret Security Clearance is a plus.
7 years of experience in Combat System engineering.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiarity/experience in Ada, C++, Java, and/or similar programming languages.
Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint and other applications.
Ability to plan and track project.
Ability to brief working group audiences.
