Job Description

CACI is seeking a Senior Security Engineer with a Secret clearance to support Defense Personnel Property System (DPS) at O'Fallon, IL, supporting Scott AFB, IL.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Be a part of a dynamic, close-knit team of mid- to senior-level professionals.

  • Serves as Lead Cyber Security Engineer on an Agile Software Development and System Sustainment program.

  • Conducts internal and external security scans and assessments; with a good understanding of network security, system security, and application security. Works with operations and software development teams on remediation requirements.

  • Interacts frequently with Government security team on behalf of the CACI security team.

  • Works with application development teams and release management teams to integrate strong security controls into software development lifecycle.

  • Establishes and manages documentation as required to assist in the maintenance of good standing of an established DoD program that must maintain Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and approval.

  • Installs, configures, maintains, and documents software information security products at multiple sites as required to assess system and application security.

  • Develops the various reports and completes the forms required to capture the security related status of a system. This includes, but is not limited to developing incident reports, vulnerability assessment, and standard configuration reports.

  • Leads the response to security incidents and disaster recovery events by conducting investigations, planning, exercises, and report generation. Researches, recommends, and implements changes to procedures to protect data from future violations.

  • Monitors security websites, vendor alert mailing lists, and other information channels to evaluate emerging exploits. Works with Operations team to schedule patching or other remediation/mitigation efforts.

  • Evaluates and assesses compliance with established information assurance policies and regulations. Conducts and documents risk and threat assessments.

  • Makes recommendations implementing countermeasures, prepares required documentation for and coordinate with senior engineers.

  • Keeps abreast of emerging security technologies and make appropriate recommendations regarding their implementation.

  • Participates in projects as security subject matter expert and technical expert to ensure timely implementation or delivery of critical information security infrastructure.

  • Strong communication requirements, both verbally and written; heavy documentation requirements for this project.

  • Assists in educating users on security procedures.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of related experience.

  • Maintains knowledge of feature and technical changes in the application.

  • Critical thinker with the ability to demystify complex technical requirements.

  • CompTIA Security+ certification

  • Must be well-versed with security-related technologies and auditing tools.

  • Must be capable of providing security engineering analysis and developing security accreditation/certification documentation, and creating and maintaining security policy and procedures.

  • Must be capable of performing security certification engineering analysis, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments.

  • Must be capable of designing and configuring security tools.

  • Must be capable of developing test procedures, establishing test environments, executing security certification test/demonstrations/evaluations, documenting results, and developing reports, conclusions, and recommendations.

  • Must be capable of conceptualizing and implementing security systems and architectures.

  • Must be familiar with submitting IA approval packages and obtaining ATOs

  • IAWIP 8570/IMMA Level 2 Certification; CISSP, CISSM, etc.,

  • Experience working with HP Fortify

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with Nessus and/or Retina desired

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
