Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Must have extensive knowledge of scientific selection and sequencing process in the development of latent prints;

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;

  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, forensic vendors, and others within the community; and

  • Review new scientific innovation and report findings through oral and/or written reports

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Applicable experience of more than 5 years

  • Experience in the examination of material for latent prints using all means available, including, specialized lighting sources, conditions, and equipment

  • Experience in the examination of digital images and determination whether a latent print has sufficient quality to make a comparison, and/or to submit to the available databases

  • Experience in the use of Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS) for searching unidentified latent fingerprints including NGI (IAFIS) and the Universal Latent Workstation (ULW) application

  • Possess an active certification by the International Association for Identification (IAI) as a Certified Latent Print Examiner (CLPE)

  • Experience in photographing latent prints using photographic equipment, i.e. DSLR and RUVIS

  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Photoshop or similar software for the calibration and/or enhancement of fingerprints

  • Well-honed written and oral English communications skills

  • Experience drafting cables, memos and other documentation

  • Knowledge of the IC and other US Government agencies within the national security community

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Advanced degree (preferred to be in area of expertise)

  • Knowledge of analytical tools and methodologies used in the IC

  • Knowledge of Customer’s internal processes and procedures
