What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our DHS team in the National Capital Region (NCR). CACI is providing a variety of IT services to this customer including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services.

The Applications Package/Desktop Engineer will be part of a team responsible for the planning, design, and deployment of COTS and non-COTS software applications, security patches, and operating system upgrades in a large, distributed enterprise environment. The position requires identifying and creating solution requirements, creating system models and architecture plans, creating system designs and test plans, and engineering, configuring, and supporting MS Windows 10 and related 3rd party applications in addition to image security control and key software products.

More About the Role:

  • Assume a technical role and participate in project assessment, software packaging, custom scripting, pilot testing, user acceptance and communication, and remediation activities associated with large scale software deployments.

  • Write technical documentation in the form of test plans, installation plans and incident reviews. Interfaces with other release team members to ensure all technical aspects of the deployment have been accounted for in order to minimize risk to IT infrastructure.

  • Solve complex technical issues and develop customized solutions in deploying software applications to a diverse workstation environment.

  • Work in a test, configuration management and release management environment, interfacing with various process owners.

  • Coordinates closely with the service desk, operations center and other services teams to plan and implement changes into the production environment.

  • Conducts final release testing prior to release of any new solutions, equipment or changes to the production environment.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • DHS EOD Eligible (Active EOD preferred)

  • Able to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Typically requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and 6 years of related experience, including at least 4 years of experience in software packaging, custom scripting, pilot testing and deployment of packages.

  • Experience working with SCCM Administration, Active Directory, MS Windows 7 & 10 OS, Windows OS Imaging, Application Virtualization, Enterprise Application Packaging, and 3rd Party Application Packaging

  • Experience scripting in VBScript, PowerShell, MSI/Install Script, Wise Scripting and Win Batch

  • Experience with packaging tools such as Wise and AdminStudio

  • Knowledge of management and deployment tools such as Marimba, Altiris, SCCM, Tanium and Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy

  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain and services including Group Policy Management

  • Knowledge of VMWare View / VSphere / ThinAPP / Workstation

  • Knowledge of application virtualization with Microsoft App-V / VMWare ThinApp / Citrix XenApp

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and ITIL v3 Foundations of Service Management Certification.
