What You’ll Get to Do:

Responsible for the performance of technical projects in accordance with contract requirements and established policies and guidelines. Manage a variety of technical IT projects of varying size and complexity including network buildouts, infrastructure/hardware deployment and LAN/WAN room management (equipment inventory/audit, maintenance policy, access control procedures, etc.). Manage the technical direction of projects through all phases; initiation, planning, requirements design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives. Direct a matrixed technical team to achieve project objectives.

More About the Role:

  • Responsible for the planning, management, coordination and execution of project activities.

  • Provides leadership to a cross-functional technical team to achieve project objectives.

  • Manage projects and tasks related to the maintenance of Local Area Network/Wide Area Network (LAN/WAN) rooms and related equipment and services.

  • Responsible for the creation of project deliverables (project plan, architecture diagrams, roadmaps, etc.).

  • Oversees individual operational projects from identification of requirements, analysis and design, implementation and production support.

  • Works cooperatively with engineering leads to plan and direct project tasks.

  • Manage project risks and issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Provide Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) for project tasks.

  • Establish working relationship with project sponsors and stakeholders.

  • Ensure adherence to the customer’s Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) process through all project phases (planning, requirements definition, design, development, integration, test, implementation).

  • Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD).

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

  • Requires bachelor’s degree and ten years of project management experience in a technical environment.

  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in network infrastructure deployment and maintenance.

  • Working knowledge of network systems and requirements for network implementation and maintenance

  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of LAN/WAN rooms and equipment.

  • Working knowledge of network diagrams, circuit ordering and installation, datacenter buildouts and maintenance, cable types and connectors and equipment refresh cycles.

  • Experience with Microsoft Visio for creating architecture diagrams and process flows.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience managing LAN/WAN equipment

  • Relevant DHS focused experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Project
