Job Description

CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our DHS team in the National Capital Region (NCR). CACI is providing a variety of IT services to this customer including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services.

CACI is looking for an experienced Enterprise Systems Engineering Manager to guide a team of technical professionals responsible for execution in the areas of desktop engineering, systems engineering, escalated problem resolution and engineering operations.

Functional Responsibility:

The applicant shall provide technical leadership to a team of IT professionals, provide direction for a portfolio of engineering services and projects, and establish the service roadmap and integration points between our services and external supporting services in the environment. This position includes researching commercial as well as government services, capabilities, and IT products; recommending solutions to meet DHS prioritized requirements; directing and leading development and implementation of solutions and transferring knowledge to operations staff who provide on-going operations and sustainment support.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performance of an enterprise team executing event, patch, release and problem management, desktop engineering and general systems engineering

  • Oversee a 24x7x365 Tier III team conducting escalated problem management and coordinating resolution of critical service outages

  • Devise policies, standard operating procedures and approval workflows for the environment

  • Develop engineering roadmap and ensure timely, quality execution against identified milestones

  • Interface with external customers as well as top management for the purpose of communicating status of project throughout the life cycle

  • Identify, analyze, and define project requirements and scope

  • Responsible for managing multiple work streams simultaneously

  • Responsible for driving recommendations through to implementation

  • Develop, recommend, and advance IT Services to support customer mission needs.

  • Document, maintain and evolve the technology service architecture showing relationships between supporting technologies/services

  • Document, maintain and evolve the technology/services roadmap.

  • Prioritize and align requirements to scope and scale of contracted support

  • Identify and leverage cloud solutions where applicable in meeting customer mission needs.

  • Work with Program / Project / Product Management offices to mitigate operational and technical risk and align strategic business objectives with operational requirements.

  • Perform research and data collection in support of associated strategic solution architecture tasks.

  • Develop briefings, position papers, and other supporting staff artifacts.

  • Interview and select candidates to fulfill technical requirements.

  • Manage, mentor and grow technical staff.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • DHS EOD Eligible (Active EOD preferred)

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree and 12 – 15 years of progressive experience with enterprise IT, IT service design, technical project management

  • 10+ years’ progressive experience with Enterprise IT operations and IT service design

  • 8+ years developing enterprise service architectures and solutions (e.g. AD, SCCM, SCOM, desktop/service image development)

  • Current Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) (and other certifications desired)

  • Demonstrated knowledge of ITIL processes and experience leading an IT engineering team of at least 20 people for an enterprise supporting 10,000 or more users

  • Expertise across a broad range of enterprise IT technologies

  • Proven communicator and leader. Must be able to work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal

  • Detail oriented – must be able to recognize critical elements of successful engineering operations and hold themselves and their teams accountable for meeting those critical elements

  • Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness

  • Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team. You will be expected to grow and development subordinate team members’ moral and wellbeing while supporting the overall goals of the program
