What You’ll Get to Do:
IT Project Manager to develop and implement IT strategies to meet the business needs. This includes the planning, budget, overseeing and documenting all aspects of the projects. Project managers may work closely with upper management, as well as with cross-functional and global teams to ensure that the scope and direction of each project is within budget and is on schedule. This role is part of a team supporting our client in the infrastructure deployment and modernization efforts.
More About the Role:
Responsible for the planning, management, coordinating and executing of project activities.
Provides leadership to a cross-functional technical team to achieve project objectives.
Responsible for the creation of project deliverables (project plan, requirements, roadmaps, etc.).
Works cooperatively with engineering leads to plan and direct project tasks.
Oversees individual operational projects from identification of requirements, analysis and design, development, end-user testing, deployment and production support.
Manage project risks and issues and implement corrective actions.
Provide Rough Order Magnitude (ROM) for project tasks.
Create and maintain detailed project schedules.
Establish working relationship with project sponsors and stakeholders.
Ensure adherence to the customer’s Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) process through all project phases (planning, requirements definition, design, development, integration, test, implementation).
Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences.
May be required in some cases to function as a member of the project team as well as the project manager, bringing forth innovative solutions, and preparing deliverables as required.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent and eight years of IT project management experience in a technical environment (BA can be substituted for an AA + 2 additional years experience or no BA and 6 additional years experience).
Ability to work independently with little direction, supervision, and management oversight.
Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD).
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Project.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
