Job Description
Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Jr. Network Architect supporting a supporting a DHS customer’s wide-area (WAN), local-area (LAN) and campus-area (CAN) networks across multiple security domains. The contractor is responsible for the overall platform management, code version and patch management. The contractor will be supporting USCIS Network Infrastructure which will include routers, switches, Load Balancers, Riverbeds Firewalls, Wireless Access Points, ISE and Wireless concentrators and IDS/IPS devices. Working closely with the USCIS Networking Engineer, Networking Operations and Architect team, the contractor is expected to assist in design and implementation to scale network automation and manage complex deployment via automation and increase the productivity using the Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Testing (CI/CD/CT) workflow. The contractor will work cooperatively, collaboratively and transparently with all associated organizations to support Network. This role necessarily deals with highly confidential and sensitive information, and the role is expected to confirm to best handling practices.

Seasoned technical individual contributor will work independently with limited supervision and manage projects/processes, coaches and reviews the work of lower level professionals. Influences others regarding system design, solutions and procedures when faced with difficult and complex problems. The Jr. Network Architect will be actively involved with other technical staff through explanation of facts, policies and practices.

Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network architecture solutions
Evolve agency’s vision by delivering a rigorous approach to IT modernization and transformations across the program
Support and strengthen agency’s governance, enterprise architecture, and cloud migration frameworks
Evaluate and prioritize modernization initiatives with agency
Evaluate agency’s portfolios and collaboration on IT roadmaps and initiatives.
Provide leadership in building and managing a network of resources to accelerate mission capabilities.
Provide expertise to ensure innovative ideas and emerging technologies are aligned with agency’s strategic and operational goals
Perform technology liaison leadership to facilitate, collaborate, and integrate impactful and advanced technical solutions for large-scale mission impacts across the enterprise
Collaborate with end user facing teams to define technology migration strategies and approaches
Assistance with architecting the software defined networking and ACI Fabric
Performs Architecture reviews as required, ensuring initiatives are aligned with future state
Proficiency in strategic planning, enterprise architecture and emerging technologies
Assists with designs, analyses, tests and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures.
Experience working with enterprise vendors such as Infoblox, Equinix, NetApp, AWS, and Cisco
Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for design.
Evaluates modern technologies to optimize network efficiency
In depth knowledge of TCP/IP Protocols
Functional understanding of network Layer 2 /3 switching and routing protocols
Functional understanding of diverse set of networked applications and terms requiring application traffic management solutions, including HTTP, HTTPS, SSH, FTP, DHCP, DNS, NTP, ANYCAST services, NAT and others
DMZ Network infrastructure knowledge including topology, security policies, firewalls and the L2/L3 switch and router infrastructure is required
Monitors network performance, performance analysis, capacity planning, and resolves bandwidth issues
Plans and implements tech refreshes, upgrades and new equipment installs
Manages project for decommissioning, equipment retirement and obsolescence
Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or network related issues
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment.
Experience with Cloud Migrations to AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Proven experience with Agile, sprints and DevOps concepts
Experience working with a Scrum Master, Daily Scrum meetings, sprints and written deliverables
Familiarity with the following technologies: Cisco 95xx and 6509-E, Cisco C7010/C5596 Nexus Switches, Cisco 55xx ASA Firewalls, DHS Compliance Checks, Software Defined Networking, SD WAN, and Network Monitoring Tools
Developing IT Solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.
Creating Strategic IT Roadmaps and architecture briefings
Evaluating technology-based solutions to address challenges and/or improve operations
Identifying opportunities for improvement across the program
Driving continuous process improvement through introduction of new technology and approaches across the enterprise
Preparing and delivering executive-level briefings for internal and external customers on enterprise-level topics, solutions, and innovations
Understanding the motivations and interests of stakeholders and tailor discussions and presentations accordingly
Discovering, understanding, documenting, and communicating both quantitative and qualitative value and costs of alternative solutions.
Producing cross-functional process flows with tools such as PowerPoint or Visio Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skills
Proven communicator who will work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high-level of operational effectiveness along with sprint work items and deliverables due the end of each sprint.
Responsible for developing technical solutions that may require collaboration with internal expertise and deep analysis of the technical system.
Requires advanced understanding and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, and technical concepts obtained through advanced education and combined with experience.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Relevant DHS focused experience
CCNP/CCIE certifications preferred
Cisco Prime, Cisco ISE, SolarWinds, Infoblox, Equinix, Riverbed, New Relic and Splunk experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of related work experience.
