What You’ll Get to Do:
The Knowledge Analyst/Technical Writer is responsible for providing Knowledge Management and technical writing support to share information and produce high quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of the organization. In this role you will review, update, and organize existing documentation; and capture content or support the creation of new content to create documentation related to IT deployments and operational activities. You will format information for consumption through various media channels to include documented materials, email, websites, and other electronic access points as well ensuring entry into the Knowledge Repository. You will ensure content is reviewed on an ongoing basis, including using available tools, resources, and contacts, to ensure documentation is up to date, understandable, and meets established guidelines. You will also gather information, interview Subject Matter Experts, and conduct research to convey technical content in a concise and effective manner.

Establish relationships with functional department Subject Matter Experts and client to promote awareness of Knowledge Management initiatives
Assist program with improving Knowledge Management practices
Work with stakeholders to translate technical content into easy to consume user documentation
Collect, organize, and maintain content for Knowledge Repositories
Disseminate knowledge resources
Develop and maintain program specific documentation templates
Participate in the establishment of guidelines and standards for text and graphics
Organize, write, edit, and produce documentation for customer facing and backend consumption. Documentation includes Process Workflows, Knowledge Articles (How-Tos, Troubleshooting), Standard Operating Procedures, Job Aids. User Guides, and User Manuals
Perform periodic reviews to evaluate existing documentation and develop innovative approaches for improvements
Obtain understanding of products/services to translate complex information into simple, polished, and engaging content for user consumption
Coordinate and implement quality-control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of documentation, including peer and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification
Ensure documentation complies with all applicable specifications, standards, and other project constraints
Define, document, and monitor baseline Knowledge Management performance metrics and key performance indicators
Support creation and editing of graphic content for program documentation
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to attain DHS EOD suitability or Current DHS EOD preferred
Associates degree or equivalent + 6 years of related experience
5 or more years of working experience with MS-Office Product Suite
Strong understanding of Knowledge Management and experience implementing Knowledge Management methodologies such as Knowledge Centered Service (KCS)
Experience developing and supporting Knowledge Management initiatives
Knowledge of currently used technical language
Proficient in the following technologies:
SharePoint
Adobe Acrobat Pro
Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Visio
Service Management Tool (i.e.. ServiceNow)
Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to identify issues, root causes, and recommend solutions
Ability to interface with various disciplines, as well as work independently
Excellent communication (oral and written) skills and able to interface effectively with Subject Matter Experts and managers at all levels
Possess a keen eye for detail
Ability to prioritize tasks/projects in order to meet deadlines and capable of handling multiple requests simultaneously
Ability to quickly learn and understand complex topics
Must be a team player
