What You’ll Get to Do:
The Technical Project Manager will oversee and manage technical IT projects involved in planning and implementation, Data Center and Cloud Migration planning and implementation, network hardware / software and tools installations and hardware, software, and tool upgrades that affect the infrastructure. Successful candidates will work with a matrixed technical team including subject matter experts (SMEs), technical personnel, and other appropriate expertise as needed to develop, design, document, implement and manage small and large scale projects to perform outside the scope of O&M activities. Project Managers will ensure compliance with the DHS SELC process through all phases of the life cycle (planning, requirements definition, design, development, integration, test, disposition, implementation, operations & maintenance) as well as deliver the appropriate SELC artifacts as defined by the level of the project.
More About the Role:
Responsible for the management, scheduling, and coordination of special projects activities, daily operations & maintenance activities, and staff assignments
Manage projects using Waterfall or Agile project management
Provides support to a cross-functional team, managing resource assignments, projected task completion dates, prioritizing activities based on customer requirements and SLAs
Works cooperatively with engineers and administrators to plan and direct tasks based on priority and manpower availability
Oversees individual IT projects from identification of requirements, analysis and design, development, end-user testing, deployment, and production support
Communicates effectively with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences
Establish and maintain strong relationship with government customer
Exercises broadly delegated authority for planning, directing, coordinating, administering, and executing many routine and complex projects
Responsible for deliverables, reports, and presentations
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)
BA/BS or equivalent experience and minimum 8 years of related work experience
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Familiar with Agile project management
Previous experience managing cloud projects
Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Confluence, ServiceNow, or other PMIS
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Relevant DHS focused experience or agency knowledge
ServiceNow Service Management Tool or Project Portfolio Management
Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance
