Job Description

Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a SCCM Engineer supporting a DHS customer’s enterprise Windows environment. CACI will provide a variety of IT services including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services. You will monitor managed enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance issues and ensure the overall system integrity.

Primary responsibilities include providing Tier 3 / 4 and Engineering daily support and administration of an SCCM 2012 / SCCM 2016 infrastructure, running an Active Directory infrastructure that supports multiple Microsoft based networks spanning multiple security enclaves. This includes a high number of domain controllers and supporting services like federation (ADFS), Group Policies, working with an RBAC model, implementing and modifying complex PowerShell scripts, identifying inefficiencies and providing solutions. The candidate will be working the Engineering Deployment Services team which is responsible for remotely managing all workstations, laptops and servers using SCCM for a couple of Microsoft based networks and domains, as well as various other external entities on implementations and integration of new and existing projects as needed. This Senior Level Engineer should be well versed in the foundations that make up a large Mission IT network 24x7x365 both CONUS and OCONUS. The candidate should have mastery utilizing and maintaining enterprise management systems such as Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager 2012/2016 to include management of assets, collections, software distributions, updates, and reports/queries. Demonstrated experience within a distributed environment of at least 20,000+ workstations is ideal. Strong experience utilizing scripting and/or programming languages such as C++ (Visual Studio), VBScript, and PowerShell to automate processes and manage system configuration.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Ensure the overall health and strong security posture of complex network architectures. The SCCM Engineer will be actively involved with all phases of security design, implementation, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis of enterprise infrastructure computing and storage. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. Develops security assessment and mitigation strategies. Maintain compliance with DOD Information Assurance requirements as well as ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded.

  • Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.

  • Assists with designs, analyses, tests and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures.

  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, particularly with implementing/troubleshooting Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and Group Policy Preferences (GPPs)

  • Ability to troubleshoot application installations and end user issues pertaining to usage of various desktop applications (Internet Explorer, Java, Office 2016, O365, Adobe products, and various antivirus suites)

  • Strong understanding of Edge, Internet Explorer, and Chrome (security zones, document modes, add-ons) and ability to troubleshoot/identify web app and site security or compatibility related issues

  • Application Deployment, SD and Patch management

  • Application Packaging and Windows Application Migration (Win 10)

  • Internal and UAT Testing Distribution and System Administration/Implementation of networks.

  • Perform software distribution and patch management to Windows PC's, laptops, and servers

  • Provide functional and technical written evaluations of products and operating system upgrades and patches

  • Create and administer advertisements, programs, collections, and custom reports in SCCM

  • Troubleshoot failed SCCM deployments and SCCM health issues

  • Administer SCCM software delivery, including various methods such as running advertised programs, machine targeted, user targeted, Application Library, and Software Center

  • Administer the SCCM tool set back end to keep the system running and healthy, including changes to the core components and settings, software delivery, client heath, reporting, boundaries, and bandwidth settings

  • Manage and administer SCCM client health, including the process of getting clients healthy

  • Perform general SCCM administration and troubleshooting

  • Create, manage, and administer SCCM software packages and deployments

  • SCCM Reporting

  • Additional responsibilities include cloud storage management, backup, virtualization, monitoring and management tools, business continuity, high availability solutions, providing hardware estimates, supporting hardware and related applications.

  • Analyzes, coordinates, and implements infrastructure projects

  • Generate, provide and refine assessments of the implementation of best practices in developing, deploying, and sustaining software distribution services

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS, roles and features, management with GUI and PowerShell;

  • In-debt knowledge of Active Directory and services;

  • Be able to create 'user' AD and Exchange accounts using PowerShell.

  • Applied knowledge of networks and network administration

  • Applied knowledge of cloud services

  • Provide physical to virtual migration planning and execution

  • Implement best practices when developing and deploying virtual solutions

  • Provide support for upgrading production environment to the latest patches and major releases

  • Monitors system performance and capacity, and provides periodic system status reports to department management

  • Analyzes reports to identify trends and opportunities for process and technology enhancements.

  • Work with a team of engineers on the strategic planning on AWS cloud design and deployment requirements.

  • Manage live production and dev environments, ensuring system availability and scalability.

  • Creates and follows SOPs

  • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues and deploys solutions

  • Plans and implements upgrades and installs new equipment

  • Conducts encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research

  • Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues

  • You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required

  • An active Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment

  • 2-5 years or more of current experience working as a SCCM administrator

  • Advance SCCM skill set and ability to use and administer the toolset without assistance and/or additional training

  • Experience performing SCCM administrator responsibilities, which include software import and deployment process

  • Experience managing group policies within SCCM

  • Active Directory Multi Forest Management within Trusts

  • Active Directory Federation Services

  • Group Policy Management, Troubleshooting, Design

  • DNS, DHCP, DFS, LDAP, RBAC, PKI

  • Windows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016

  • PowerShell

  • Skills in reading log files

  • Ability to learn new concepts very quickly

  • Proven experience with Agile, sprints and DevOps concepts

  • Experience working with a Scrum Master, Daily Scrum meetings, sprints and written deliverables

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skills

  • Proven communicator and leader.

  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or Ansible

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Relevant DHS focused experience

  • Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services.

  • Active Directory experience, particularly in a large enterprise environment.

  • Strong scripting skills.

  • Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.

  • At least one of the following certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration

  • VMWare Certified Professional
