Job Description

Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a Sr. NetApp Engineer supporting a DHS customer’s analyze enterprise infrastructure computing and storage needs, computer system capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations. You may analyze or recommend commercially available software. You will provide engineering support to expand or modify enterprise infrastructure systems to serve new purposes or improve workflow. You will test, maintain, and monitor computer storage and systems, including coordinating the installation. You will support virtualization and aggregation of the underlying physical hardware resources across multiple systems and virtual resources. You will apply industry / organizational best practices and supporting processes for the planning, analysis, design and engineering of new information systems / emerging enterprise technologies. You will monitor managed enterprise infrastructure platforms to identify performance issues and ensure the overall system integrity.

You will build servers and associated storage volumes to meet system architecture and associated requirements. You will identify system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal. You will provide staff and users with assistance solving computer-related problems, such as malfunctions and program problems. You will prepare technical engineering documentation, including both system-level and user-level documentation. Develop engineering solutions, automated when feasible, that may be transitioned to an O&M organization.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Ensure the overall health and strong security posture of complex network architectures. The Sr. NetApp Engineer will be actively involved with all phases of security design, implementation, proactive monitoring, troubleshooting and analysis of enterprise infrastructure computing and storage. Develops system specifications, architecture designs, integration and test plans, and all relevant documentation. Develops security assessment and mitigation strategies. Maintain compliance with DOD Information Assurance requirements as well as ensuring service performance indicators are met or exceeded.

More About the Role:

  • Work with both corporate and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement enterprise-wide network security solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.

  • Assists with designs, analyses, tests and implementation of state-of-the-art secure network architectures.

  • Additional responsibilities include cloud storage management, backup, virtualization, monitoring and management tools, business continuity, high availability solutions, providing hardware estimates, supporting hardware and related applications.

  • Analyzes, coordinates, and implements infrastructure projects

  • Generate, provide and refine assessments of the implementation of best practices in developing, deploying, and sustaining enterprise storage products

  • Provide technical leadership for installation, configuration, and implementation of enterprise infrastructure computing and storage

  • Knowledge of ANY storage technology: Storage Area Network (SAN), NetApp, NAS, EMC, etc.

  • Must have demonstrated experience with backup technologies like NetApp

  • Be able to trouble shoot hardware and Storage 'Raid' problems quickly and effectively

  • Must have knowledge of: - Dell servers, NetApp NAS and SAN devices, Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory

  • Candidate should have knowledge of creating user AD accounts and Exchange mailboxes along with the configuration of the client software

  • Responsible for development and execution of standard operating procedures

  • Performing daily enterprise health and configuration au Knowledge of servers hardware and RAID arrays.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server OS, roles and features, management with GUI and PowerShell;

  • In-debt knowledge of Active Directory and services;

  • Be able to create 'user' AD and Exchange accounts using PowerShell.

  • Applied knowledge of networks and network administration

  • Applied knowledge of cloud services

  • Provide physical to virtual migration planning and execution

  • Implement best practices when developing and deploying virtual solutions

  • Provide support for upgrading production environment to the latest patches and major releases

  • Monitors system performance and capacity, and provides periodic system status reports to department management

  • Analyzes reports to identify trends and opportunities for process and technology enhancements.

  • Work with a team of engineers on the strategic planning on AWS cloud design and deployment requirements.

  • Manage live production and dev environments, ensuring system availability and scalability.

  • Creates and follows SOPs

  • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues and deploys solutions

  • Plans and implements upgrades and installs new equipment

  • Conducts encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research

  • Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship required

  • An active Entrance on Duty (EOD) is required to begin employment and must be maintained as a requirement of continued employment

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of subject matter experience deploying WAN/LAN, Routing, Switching, Optimization and extensive exposure with Cloud Service Providers

  • Knowledge of Backup systems and its various topologies and restore process.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and analytical systems.

  • Must have knowledge of all IT hardware servers, NetApp and Hitachi SAN arrays and Active Directory.

  • Must have hands-on- experience with Dell servers of various models.

  • Experience working with customers to capture/document requirements.

  • Proven experience with Agile, sprints and DevOps concepts

  • Experience working with a Scrum Master, Daily Scrum meetings, sprints and written deliverables

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

  • Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skills

  • Proven communicator and leader. Must be able to work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal

  • Evaluates modern technologies to optimize network efficiency

  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or Ansible

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high-level of operational effectiveness along with sprint work items and deliverables due the end of each sprint.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Relevant DHS focused experience

  • Cloud technologies with an emphasis on Azure or Amazon Web Services.

  • Active Directory experience, particularly in a large environment.

  • Strong scripting skills.

  • NetApp storage administration and operation experience.

  • Ability to apply ITIL v3 Foundation concepts within the workplace.

  • At least one of the following certifications:

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)

  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

  • Microsoft Windows Server Administration

  • VMWare Certified Professional
