CACI is seeking a Network Engineer III to join our project engineering operations team on a contract supporting Department of Homeland Security. The Network Engineer III will play a key role in implementing and upgrading network solutions for a 24/7/365 environment. This position will work closely with the Project Engineering Manager and the Chief Architect in support of IT operation and engineering enhancements and implementing concept of operations.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Your focus will be on Network Engineering, new project requirements, and operation and sustainment of existing infrastructure. Responsibilities include:

  • Research and implement enterprise system-wide network solutions/capabilities/enhancements to support customer business/mission goals and objectives.

  • Coordination of system maintenance, monitoring and installation of multiple WAN/LAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve network media and components.

  • Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies.

  • Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation.

  • Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives.

  • Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance, and reliability of the network.

  • Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization, and industry best practices

  • Follows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies.

  • Represent customer requirements in technical exchanges with other government agencies.

  • Perform site surveys to new installations and technology refresh.

  • Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams.

  • Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.

  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with operations and engineering teams on new solutions, systems, applications, and tools.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain DoD Top Secret/SCI Clearance

  • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry On Duty (EOD) - Active EOD preferred

  • B.S. + 10 years of applicable experience

  • Strong experience engineering enterprise networks with recent experience in designing, planning, building, upgrading and oversight of complex DoD/FED IT networks

  • Strong experience with Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPNS, and wireless access points

  • Strong experience with Network analysis tools

  • Strong experience with supporting IP services (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, QOS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc.)

  • Strong experience with OSPF, BGP, MPLS, RSVP/LDP L2/3VPNs, VRFs, IKE/IPSec, GRE tunnels, MTU, FTP, Import/Export policies.

  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail

  • Desire to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment

  • Be a team player and work in a collaborative team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • AWS experience

  • Previous DHS or DoD experience

  • Cisco CCNP, CCVP, CCNA or CCDP
