What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is currently looking for outstanding IT candidates to join our DHS team in the National Capital Region (NCR). CACI is providing a variety of IT services to this customer including cyber security, identity and access management, risk management, cloud integration and engineering, field support services, service desk, application deployment and optimization, and operations center support services.

This position supports a 24x7x365 enterprise IT engineering and operations center. It is the mission of the enterprise engineering and operations center to resolve escalated incidents, complete service requests, implement solutions, monitor and maintain servers, applications, and their associated services for all systems of the enterprise. Staff must be able to quickly identify and analyze network events as generated by the network monitoring tools and may include support of technologies such as MS Active Directory, Secure File Transfer, Backups and Backup Software, Application troubleshooting escalations, Server, Back-end Administration of Enterprise Applications (SharePoint, Business Process Tools, ITSM Tools, etc), all production releases, system hardware maintenance, system vulnerability management and remediation, system patching, virtualization administration, certificate management, and Citrix administration. This team is expected to drive resolution of high-severity outages and provide problem resolution for complex infrastructure issues. Where necessary, staff must be flexible, willing, and able to work rotating and/or non-standard work shifts, including evenings, overnight, weekends and holidays.

More About the Role:

Participates in reviewing performance logs and monitors system performance. Schedule, host and participate in Outage troubleshooting bridges. Troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems and aids in performing configurations and adjustments to existing hardware; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes. Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups. Creates user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment. Responsible for troubleshooting, and resolving Tier II and Tier III incidents, performing root cause analysis and applying technical knowledge to recommend solutions to problems. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior system admins.

  • Maintain, manage, and monitor all aspects of information technology structure.

  • Inform internal and external audience of any outages, provide end user technical support, and contribute solutions into the knowledge base.

  • Provide the support to clients by resolving service requests that have been escalated by lower tiers.

  • Evaluate existing systems and/or user needs to analyze, design, recommend, and implement system changes.

  • Perform scheduled backups, change user privileges and/or repair software and hardware malfunctions as necessary

  • Collaborate with operations and engineering personnel to perform root cause analysis and incorporate solutions into existing knowledge base

  • Work independently with little supervision while providing clear documentation of activities, including customer, management, and reporting oriented information as well as detailed technical information.

  • Understand and respond properly to escalation procedures.

  • Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues.

  • Satisfactorily complete and maintain quarterly internal training and certification standards.

  • Maintain a professional attitude and appearance while exhibiting a personable, polite and patient behavior at all times.

  • Monitor the overall environment to include servers and back-ups

  • Be responsive and decisive on adjusting architecture as customer requirements, market conditions and technology evolves

  • Ability and initiative to set goals and execute

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Must be able to obtain Secret Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain DHS EOD

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related work experience.

  • Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in system administration or engineering with Microsoft Server platforms and technologies to include Windows 2003/2008, 2012 and 2016, DNS, DHCP and Active Directory administration in a large enterprise environment

  • Experienced in administration of server virtualization technologies (e.g. Hyper-V, VMWare)

  • Strong working knowledge of server-specific storage configurations such a, RAID storage and SAN-attached storage

  • Working knowledge of setup and maintenance of tape library environment, setup schedules, policies and encryption

  • Understanding of snapshot creation and restoration from backups on a SAN

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience using HP Network Management Center, Solar Winds and ServiceNow

  • Security+, ITILv3 Foundations, MCSE, cloud certifications desired
