Job Description

About the Role:
Conduct regular security audits and bring every member of the program up-to-date on the program plans and policies regarding information sharing
Contribute to roadmap for technology improvement recommendations, insertion, and transition associated with project technology.
Contribute to gap analysis to identify documentation required to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transition to production and fielding, including maintaining the technology throughout its lifecycle.
Support the planning of the entire lifecycle of the technology implementation in order to develop a well-planned systems engineering approach which includes information assurance
Draft and provide recommendations on a wide variety of documents related to project technology required IAW DoD and DoN directives and instructions
Research evolving emerging technologies and develop approaches related to project technology to significantly enhance the information assurance of both manned and unmanned platforms.
Support trade studies, engineering, technical analyses, and assessments for tasks in support of various UAS Navy platforms including legacy systems and new technology systems.
Apply engineering and analytical disciplines to verify that the processes and products used in the design, development, fabrication, and installation of prototypes comply with applicable cybersecurity specifications and Configuration Management (CM) plans
Evaluate designs for new product development and for improvements to existing items for project technology for cyber security issues.
Evaluate engineering designs, hardware conceptualization, prototyping, and review of the overall product while accounting for information assurance requirements and supportability.
Evaluate prototypes of hardware based on reverse engineering for information assurance issues
Assess proposed engineering changes, perform feasibility studies, and investigate and resolve hardware system information security issues in the areas of technology application and insertion and also in the areas of product performance and reliability
Make cybersecurity assessment of rapid prototyping techniques and methods, which develop quick-reaction proof-of-concept prototypes of systems, subsystems, and components, for information assurance issues. Support execution of rapid prototyping techniques to develop systems, subsystems, circuit cards, and assemblies, including any software, firmware, and algorithms required for their operation.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Identifies security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications and new technology initiatives.
Develops, tests, and operates firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and software deployment tools.
Tests and debugs programs and scripts and prepares instruction for use during network exploitation activities.
Applies knowledge of current IA policy, tactics, techniques, policy, and doctrine, and relationship to IA reporting requirements and structure.
Assists in the planning and implementation of requirements.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in information assurance, computer science, computer engineering, informational systems, management information systems or programming
7+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
DOD 8570.1 IAT Level II or IAM Level II
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
Able to use extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Able to lead and direct the work of others
Seasoned technical individual contributor
Works independently with limited supervision
Able to manage projects/processes
Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals
Able to resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems
Effective communicator, able to influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active DoD SECRET clearance
Master’s degree in information assurance, computer science, or computer engineering
12 years of experience in the field or in a related area
DAWIA IT Level II certification is highly desired
