Job Description

About the Role:

  • Support a gap analysis to identify documentation required to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transition to production and fielding, including maintaining the technology throughout its lifecycle.

  • Plan and document the entire lifecycle of the technology implementation in order to develop a well-planned systems engineering approach

  • Draft and provide recommendations on a wide variety of documents related to project technology required IAW DoD and DoN directives and instructions

  • Research evolving emerging technologies and develop approaches related to project technology to significantly enhance the functionality and capability of both manned and unmanned platforms.

  • Perform trade studies, engineering, technical analyses, and assessments for tasks in support of various UAS Navy platforms including legacy systems and new technology systems.

  • Apply engineering and analytical disciplines to verify that the processes and products used in the design, development, fabrication, and installation of prototypes comply with applicable specifications and Configuration Management (CM) plans

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Perform a variety of systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to the development, operation, and maintenance of software encompassing techniques and procedures often regulated by a software development process with the purpose of improving the reliability and maintainability of software systems.

  • Establish software information and engineering requirements which is necessitated by the potential complexity of those software systems, which may contain millions of lines of code.

  • Apply the discipline of software engineering for specific technical problems and procedures, including knowledge, tools, and methods for software requirements, software design, software construction, software testing, and software maintenance tasks.

  • Relate the disciplines of software engineering to the disciplines of computer science, computer engineering, management, mathematics, project management, quality management, software ergonomics, and systems engineering.

  • Duties required for this task order and for assigned projects include:

  • performing software engineering

  • conducting rapid prototype DevSecOps

  • creating accreditation artifacts

  • executing test events

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance

  • A Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, computer engineering, or Information systems

  • 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area

  • DAWIA Sys Engr Level II certification is highly desired

  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Have extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Able to lead and direct the work of others.

  • A seasoned technical individual contributor

  • Works independently with limited supervision

  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects/processes

  • Able to coaches and review the work of lower-level professionals

  • Demonstrated ability to resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems

  • Effective communicator in order to influences others regarding recommendations for system design, solutions, and procedures

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

  • UAS Navy platforms

  • DAWIA Sys Engr Level II certification

  • Bachelor's with 7-14 years of experience in the field or in a related area or Master’s degree in system engineering or computer engineering and at least 5-12 years of experience in the field or in a related area
