What You’ll Get to Do:

CACI is seeking an experienced Appeon PowerBuilder developer to join our Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) team at Norfolk, VA!

You will leverage your experience in developing complex client-server applications to maintain and enhance the Navy’s premier C2 Supply Family of Systems (FoS). Your focus will be on developing new functionality while also maintaining the existing C2 Supply FoS which is based on custom government off the shelf (GOTS) client software. To achieve this focus, you will use secure coding best practices for a windows-based platform environment. You will continuously promote the use of software development best practices and identify specific areas for process improvement. You will also assist your team members in identifying security vulnerabilities and provide recommendations. This methodology towards security is based on your strict adherence to applicable DoD STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides) which you apply throughout the development cycle. As a multifunctional professional you will also be responsible for creation and execution of work proposals. The scope of this can include the development of related technical documentation as well as administering the resources required to execute projects.

The scope of your duties will include:

  • Continuously apply a “system of systems” approach when performing systems engineering functions such as creation of requirements and design documentation. Additional engineering functions will include analysis of impacts to existing system functionality and interfaces for potential modifications.

  • Develop installation packages using VisualStudio and Wix and create upgrade paths for system updates

  • Work with NTCSS and OOMA Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to modify NTCSS and OOMA applications based on approved Change Requests (CRs).

  • Provide status of tasking to project leads and management.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizen.

  • SECRET clearance - must be current.

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification or higher (ex. CompTIA Security+, CASP, CISSP or related).

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related Science and Engineering oriented curricula and 7 years + of related experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of PowerBuilder to include in-depth knowledge in the following areas:

  • PowerBuilder Foundation Classes (PFC) knowledge

  • Dynamic data windows knowledge

  • MDI (Multiple Document Interface) knowledge

  • Object Oriented Programming

  • Relational Database constructs

  • Configuration Management (SVN, Ant build scripting, JIRA)

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Sybase and Oracle RDMS to include experience in creating and writing stored procedures, views, tables, etc.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of the following web developer tools:

  • Eclipse

  • Perl

  • Apache-Tomcat

  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex problem solving across multiple OS and network environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use oral and written communications to convey ideas and concepts, explain rationale, and provide recommendations.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Java programming knowledge and experience is considered a plus

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) is considered a plus

  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) is considered a plus
