CACI is seeking a motivated and experienced AWS / Azure SysOps Administrator to join our Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) team at Norfolk VA. We are seeking a candidate who has spent a career as both an On-premises administrator for Linux, Windows virtualized based systems as well as an administrator AWS or Azure cloud-based platforms. You will need to be well versed in performing tasks such as backups, Installing security tools. You should be familiar with the various Navy enterprise afloat and ashore networks such as ISNS, CANES, NMCI and ONE-Net. You will also need to be well versed in developing scripts based on languages, such as Bash, Python, and PHP. This is a hybrid role that can be mostly remote as team members are only required to be onsite once a week. This will require that you live within the local commuting distance (80 miles) to the Naval Station at Norfolk, VA.

You will have an important role in transforming the US Navy’s premier logistics command and control support information system to Linux based Platform as a Service (PaaS) cloud platform-based environment. Your focus will principally be on the deployment, management, and general operation of NTCSS within the Gov cloud (AWS or Azure services) environment. You will collaborate with the development team to ensure that a consistent approach for deployment is established and maintained. You will also work with Tier 2 and 3 support personnel to address NTCSS system and customer issues. The scope of assignment may include direct interaction with the end users as well as hosting platform staff. You will interact with the deployment (Advance Planning Team) staff to plan the onboarding or off boarding of NTCSS customers. You will be a key resource responsible for the integration DoD and DON -specific requirements or protocols in the establishment and maintenance of security controls

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Work with Cloud service providers in managing and maintaining NTCSS servers.

  • Work with Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to address NTCSS system and customer issues

  • Develop and automating system administration procedures based on a Linux based PaaS environment.

  • Continually ensure that NTCSS systems are Host Based Security System (HBSS) compliant.

  • Continually ensure that NTCSS systems are configured for Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) scanning and are scanned.

  • Perform monthly reviews of NTCSS server scans and ensure that NTCSS servers match Cyber baseline scans.

  • Install Data Alignment Packages (DAPs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVA) onto NTCSS servers in a Gov cloud environment

  • Provide status to various stakeholders within the engineering and program management domains

Required Qualifications:

  • Active Secret Clearance.

  • CompTIA Security+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • 8+ years of related experience

  • Demonstrated proficiency in System Administration and building environments in either an AWS or Azure cloud environment

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of multiple operating system environments (Linux, Windows, Windows Server, and VMWare).

  • Demonstrated extensive knowledge and experience in Linux and Windows server administration tasks.

  • Demonstrated Knowledge and ability to develop and understand Linux and Windows based scripts (e.g. bash, sh, PowerShell, python).

  • Demonstrated basic knowledge and understanding of relational databases, preferably Sybase.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic system networking principles.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Citrix, ThinApp and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) deployment architecture.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with various Navy network environments preferred (Navy Marine Corp Internet - NMCI, OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network - ONE-Net).

  • Ability to troubleshoot Linux and Windows system issues in a complex network and system environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend instructions of moderate to advance complexity for the installation system packages and IAVAs using package installation utilities (eg. RPM, Install Shield, MSI).

  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex problem troubleshooting across multiple OS and network environments

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use oral and written communications to convey ideas and concepts, explain rationale, and provide recommendations.

Desired Qualifications:

  • CASP, CISSP

  • Top Secret (TS) Clearance or ability to obtain

  • RedHat Certified Engineer

  • AWS specialization certification

  • Knowledge of and experience in using DoD STIGs

The NTCSS is the set of systems the Navy uses both ashore and afloat to handle supply chain and logistics management of ships, submarines, aviation squadrons, and intermediate maintenance activities. Installed at over 1,000 sites with 250,000 daily users, the system is essential to the smooth functioning of the Navy’s supply chain. Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $86,200-$176,600. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
