CACI is seeking a Technical Writer to join our e-Learning team in Norfolk, VA with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The Technical Writer will be responsible for developing, editing, reviewing, and formatting US Army technical publications.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Responsible for producing, proof-reading, editing, and formatting technical documentation to include design specifications, manuals, on-line help, procedures, plans, and proposals.
Edits and formats information for consumption through various media channels to include printed materials, scripted voice content, email, websites, and other electronic access points.
Gathers information, interviews subject matter experts, and conducts other research in order to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.
More About the Role:
Write and edit technical documents including reference manual and product manuals.
Write and edit procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.
Meet with instructional designers, developers, subject matter experts, and project manager to learn about specific products and processes.
Develop and edit technical documentation in XML.
Document the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications.
Coordinate the quality control activities required to ensure the accuracy and adequacy of each publication, including in-process and final reviews, editing for compliance with all applicable specifications and standards, validation, and change verification.
Work effectively as a team player.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
BS/BA Degree and 5-7 years’ experience as a Technical Writer
Active Security Clearance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent writing and grammatical skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently
Proficient with Microsoft Office or related software
Expert knowledge of MIL-STD-40051-1D and latest version of the Army Golden Maser (AGM).
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Write and edit Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM).
