The CDM Program is managed within the DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA/Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C)/Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division, responsible for enhancing the security, resilience, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. The DHS CDM Program mission is to safeguard and secure cyberspace in an environment where the threat of cyber-attack is continuously growing and evolving. The CDM Program defends the United States (U.S.) Federal Information Technology (IT) networks from cybersecurity threats by providing continuous monitoring sensors (tools), diagnosis, mitigation tools, and associated services to strengthen the security posture of Government networks.
What You’ll Get to Do:
On our team, you’ll be responsible for integrating complex technical solutions using many different technologies to enhance and evolve the Cyber Security mission at DHS and its 14 “component agencies”.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with cutting-edge cybersecurity tools in development, test and production environments, contributing to the defense and protection of numerous systems, devices, and customer data. An ideal candidate would prefer to work in a flexible, fast- paced environment.

We are looking for a highly adaptable, highly technical Full-Stack Systems Engineer
Understand Cloud and System level security – especially in Azure
You must thoroughly know everything about Python
Must have programmed complex OS (Linux, Windows) system level automation
Break out the creativity! We need someone who will be able to create technical solutions. Grasping an in-depth understanding of content as well as being able to produce your own.
You must have a desire to learn and proficiently grasp concepts quickly. You should also be able to prove exemplary technical knowledge/skills,
Frequent customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues.
Effectively and professionally communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers at all levels of seniority.
Work independently or on very small teams to integrate systems and solutions, triage issues, and prioritize tasks.
Provision, install, configure, and investigate incidents on multiple network device types on both public and private VM and hardware infrastructures.
Create and manage technical solutions. Provide in-depth understanding of content as well as (in some cases) produce your own.
You may be asked to attend meetings, obtain credentials, etc. Virtually (with and without a camera), in a CACI or government office at any time.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
There is no clearance requirement to begin employment. However, as a requirement of continued employment in this position you will be required to obtain a DHS/EOD clearance.
University Degree (BS), or equivalent years of related experience, and additionally 10+ years of related IT engineering experience required
7+ years’ cumulative experience with customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues
7+ years’ cumulative experience with securing systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions
7+ years’ cumulative experience with Log Analytics (Azure Log Analytics or similar SysLog)
7+ years’ cumulative experience with Data Analysis of Logs
3+ years cumulative experience with Azure Tools (Azure Automation, Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel)
3+ years’ cumulative experience installing, securing and configuring Azure SQL DB
5+ years’ cumulative experience creating and analyzing PowerShell, Ansible, Bash, JAVA based, YAML, C# – basically you need to know how to connect things for automation needs
5+ years’ cumulative experience creating and analyzing Python scripts
3+ years’ cumulative experience In-depth system admin level understanding of Windows and/or Linux environments (MCSE or RHCE equivalence)
3+ years’ cumulative experience with container-orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)
2+ years’ recent (within the past 5 years) experience with Azure Cloud Computing
2+ years’ recent experience with Azure Dashboards
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related subject area
Relevant Technical and/or Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNA-Security, etc.)
One (1) of the following certifications: Azure Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineering Expert, Azure Data Engineering Associate, Azure AI Engineering Associate
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools is greatly desired. Our mission to support DHS in their cybersecurity needs, inclusive of identifying and preventing culprits from accessing systems/data that they shouldn’t is a high priority focus for our team.
3+ years’ experience with VMWare (implementing, managing, configuring)
Some experience (1+ years’) with any or all of these products or technologies: Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Qualys, SCCM, BigFix, MDM solutions (again, nice to have, not required)
1+ years’ system admin level understanding of Windows server/ADFS environments
1+ years’ experience integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud): Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation
1+ years’ experience integrating/understanding Multi-factor authentication (MFA, 2MFA)
1+ years’ experience with enhance data protection and compliance. (such as OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, Cyphers)
3+ years’ cumulative experience setup and integration with IIS, SQL Server
1+ years’ cumulative experience with Agile/Kanban, GIT

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $101,800-$218,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
