The FISMSS Project supports financial management applications that help our Department of Defense customers analyze, report, and justify their budgets for congressional approval. We have been supporting our customers for almost 20 years with 5 applications across 6 different clients. We continue to develop and implement exciting and complex solutions to support the evolving needs of our customers.

We are looking for an eager and motivated self-starter to join our development team in support of the EAS application. As a Mid-Level SQL Developer, you will be responsible for the design, development and testing of the Microsoft SQL Server database application structure. You will be required to write stored procedures, functions, scripts, and views with extensive use of T-SQL programming in support of major application enhancements. You will work closely with Lead Developers to become familiar with other source systems which integrate with EAS in order to implement new data loads and make changes to existing ones. This role also requires the capability to debug and resolve data discrepancies during critical production support periods.

Additionally, you will be supporting a large-scale application re-write effort requiring analysis for creating new complex procedures to perform data integration, data mapping, and data transfer from source systems to the EAS database model. Other responsibilities include monitoring databases on CACI and customer servers, evaluating database configurations and proactively suggesting improvements, troubleshooting and fixing issues, and evaluating Information Assurance vulnerabilities and implementing remedies. As part of the re-write effort you will help identify, prototype, and suggest alternatives to SQL Server such as Postgres, NoSQL, MySQL, etc.

This role requires strong technical skills and the ability to properly prioritize and multi-task. You must be able to work collaboratively with our project team in an Agile environment to ensure we are implementing optimal solutions for our customers. We are looking for experienced individuals with the following skills to join our program (positions is available in Chantilly, VA with Remote work days with various levels of experience).

All positions require a DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to successfully obtain a DoD Secret Clearance (US Citizenship required). Please view the following required skillsets.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information systems or related field preferred or Associates degree with relevant work experience

  • At least 4 years of experience as a programmer/developer utilizing Microsoft .NET technology and MS SQL Server

  • Proficient understanding of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or above.

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft SQL Server Security and User administration

  • Able to quickly understand requirements for business applications and procedures

  • Able to prioritize, track, and complete tasks according to Sprint deadlines with limited oversight.

  • Able to work in an Agile environment where priorities and deadlines may chance regularly.

  • Strong written/oral communication skills

  • Flexibility to work within technical framework with evolving business requirements

Preferred

  • Experience with SQL Server 2012 Integration and Reporting Services

  • A good foundation in Object Oriented Development (OOD) methodologies

  • Able to read, understand and debug web applications using Visual Studio 2015 or higher

  • Experience with PostgreSQL

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $54,900-$109,800. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
