The CDM Program is managed within the DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA/Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C)/Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division, responsible for enhancing the security, resilience, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. The DHS CDM Program mission is to safeguard and secure cyberspace in an environment where the threat of cyber-attack is continuously growing and evolving. The CDM Program defends the United States (U.S.) Federal Information Technology (IT) networks from cybersecurity threats by providing continuous monitoring sensors (tools), diagnosis, mitigation tools, and associated services to strengthen the security posture of Government networks.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Responsible for integrating complex technical solutions using many different technologies to enhance and evolve the Cyber Security mission at DHS and its 14 “component agencies”.
Get ready to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty with cutting-edge cybersecurity tools in dev, test and production environments, contributing to the defense and protection of numerous systems, devices and customer data. You won’t be living in a confined stovepipe or swim-lane. More About the Role:
Currently, this is a full-time remote position (work from home). Must reside within the United States.
We are looking for a highly adaptable, highly technical “Jack of all Trades”.
You must know everything about Office 365 – “inside and out” with at least 5 years cumulative experience to prove it.
Do you get told how to do advanced things in O365 or do you tell others how things really work in O365 securely
Frequent customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues.
Effectively and professionally communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers at all levels of seniority.
In-depth system administration of Windows and Azure Cloud environments
Your voice matters! Provide valued input into CDM and DHS processes and procedure to ensure others who follow in your footsteps have a clear, easy to follow path toward implementation successes.
Work independently or on very small teams to integrate systems and solutions, triage issues, and prioritize tasks.
Provision, install, configure, “be a detective” and other things on multiple network device types on both public and private VM and hardware infrastructures.
Create and manage technical solutions. Provide in-depth understanding of content as well as (in some cases) produce your own.
You may be asked to attend meetings, obtain credentials, etc. Virtually (with and without a camera), in a CACI or government office at any time
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be successfully obtain to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EOD authorization. Active DoD clearance preferred, but not required.
University Degree (BS), or equivalent years of related experience, and additionally 7+ years of related IT engineering experience required.
7+ years’ experience with customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues
7+ years’ experience with in-depth systems administration in Windows and/or Azure environments
7+ years’ experience integrating and troubleshooting systems in a Windows environment (native and in Azure)
5+ years’ hands-on experience creating, analyzing and automating scripts (PowerShell, Ansible, Python, etc.) – basically you need to know how to connect things for automation needs
5+ years’ cumulative experience in common email clients such as Outlook, and OWA
3+ years’ cumulative experience in O365 AAD sync and Azure AD
3+ years’ cumulative experience integrating, securing, and making useful the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud): Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation
5+ years’ cumulative experience DNS and DHCP
2+ years’ cumulative experience implementing and securing services relating to remote connections (RDP, RDS, RDSH, VDI, etc.)
1+ years’ cumulative experience integrating/understanding Multi-factor authentication (MFA, 2MFA)
1+ years’ cumulative experience with enhance data protection and compliance (such as OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, Cyphers)
3+ years’ experience with securing systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions
3+ years’ experience with network devices, integrations, and concepts such as VPN, firewall, routing
1+ years’ experience with Agile/Kanban, Git/GitHub
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related subject area
Relevant Technical and/or Security Certifications (e.g. Azure, CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNA-Security, etc.)
One (1) of the following certifications: MS 365 Modern Desktop Admin, MS 365 Teams Admin, MS 365 Security Admin, MS 365 Enterprise Admin Expert, MS Azure Admin, MS ID & Access Admin, MS Information Protection Admin
Understands and intuits "why things work", not just the ability to follow installation and configuration guides – Curiosity
Proven communication skills both written and verbal to management
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools is greatly desired. Our mission to support DHS in their cybersecurity needs, inclusive of identifying and preventing culprits from accessing systems/data that they shouldn’t is a high priority focus for our team.
Some experience (1+ years’) with any or all of these products or technologies: MS SQL, Puppet, Chef, Qualys, SCCM, BigFix, MDM solutions (again, nice to have, not required)
Some experience (1+ years’) setup and integration with IIS, SQL Server
Some experience (2+ years’) with Azure Security Tools (e.g. Sentinel)
Some experience (2+ years’) with administering Linux (CentOS, RedHat, etc.)

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $86,200-$176,600. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
