CACI is currently seeking an Oracle DBA with SAP BASIS Experience to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals utilizing ASF best practices for SAP implementation for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation’s safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity. ASF programs thrive in a culture of innovation and are constantly seeking individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. You should have worked with or have a strong interest in supporting agile SAP implementation practices and delivering releases in short sprints.

What you’ll get to do:

Oracle DBA's with SAP BASIS Experience supporting our Agile Teams are responsible for:

  • Provide SAP Application, Database, Operating System and infrastructure support, including but not limited to Performance Tuning, Transport Management via ChaRM, TMS and CTS+, and SAP Application installations and upgrades (Support and Enhancement Packages)

  • Support the integration of emerging SAP technologies (e.g.: HANA, FIORI / UI5, etc.) into Enterprise environments

  • Support the Functional Business, Application Development, and Security Technical Teams to provide O&M and Release Management support for landscape components

  • Integrate and support cloud, and on-premise servers providing high availability backup and storage area network (SAN) solutions and tools

  • Participate in the design and implementation of Proof of Concept activities consistent with enterprise standards and Agency priorities for continuous improvement (e.g.: Robotics Process Automation, Automated Testing, etc.) to deliver value-added solutions

  • Design, develop and implement approaches for historical data retention and archival storage backup and recovery solutions

  • Advise the project team of SAP technology requirements, methodology, processes and best practices

  • Work in a collaborative team environment with other operational (e.g. OS, DBA, network, security, etc.) team members to troubleshoot and optimize performance

You Will Bring these Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:

  • 3-year check for felony convictions

  • 1-year check for illegal drug use

  • 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud

  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree

  • 8-10 years of technical experience

  • Oracle certified DBA

  • Extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of SAP products including but not limited to ECC/BW/SRM/EP/PI/BOBJ/Gateway

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator in a UNIX/Oracle environment

  • HANA Migration experience

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills to provide expertise across functional support areas to tune SAP Applications for optimal performance

  • Strong written communication skills to document implemented solutions or workarounds as a result of SAP problem analysis and resolution

  • Experience customizing, configuring, administering and supporting SAP systems including data dictionary, reference models and ABAP/4 Development Workbench

  • SAP NetWeaver experience for integrating business processes across various systems

  • Demonstrated ability to meet established levels of SAP system service and support to ensure minimal system downtime

  • Capable of working in a team environment and collaborating with other platform (e.g. UNIX, Linux), DBA, and security team members to troubleshoot and optimize performance

  • Experience utilizing performance monitoring tools to work with application developers to identify and correct inefficient database operations

  • Hardware and Database Migration experience strongly preferred

You are good at:

  • Planning, designing, implementing and maintaining SAP solutions for our customers using SAP Release Management and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices to deliver functionality on time, on budget which meet business needs

  • Effective Task organization skills, including the ability to realistically assess, plan for, and logically organize complex technical tasks

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment

  • Experience working with third party vendors and service providers

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To Have:

  • SAP Certification in one or more of the following disciplines:

  • SAP Basis Administration


  • Oracle Certified DBA

  • Agile implementation methodology experience

  • Experience using SAP and 3rd Party performance monitoring tools to assist application developers identify and remediate inefficient database operations

  • S/4HANA Cloud experience

  • Experience designing and implementing SAP Systems to meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for System Availability by minimizing system downtime

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $93,300-$200,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
