The CDM Program is managed within the DHS Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, CISA/Office of Cybersecurity and Communications (CS&C)/Network Security Deployment (NSD) Division, responsible for enhancing the security, resilience, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure. The DHS CDM Program mission is to safeguard and secure cyberspace in an environment where the threat of cyber-attack is continuously growing and evolving. The CDM Program defends the United States (U.S.) Federal Information Technology (IT) networks from cybersecurity threats by providing continuous monitoring sensors (tools), diagnosis, mitigation tools, and associated services to strengthen the security posture of Government networks.

What You’ll Get to Do:
We are looking for a highly adaptable, highly technical “Jack of all Trades”.
Frequent customer interactions, including presenting, answering questions, proactively resolving issues.
Effectively and professionally communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues and customers at all levels of seniority.
In-depth system administration of Linux environments
Integrate and troubleshoot systems in a Linux environment (CentOS/RHEL)
Implement and secure services relating to remote connections
Integrate Multi-factor authentication (MFA, 2MFA)
Enhance data protection and compliance (with technologies such as OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, Cyphers)
Secure systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and negotiating/working-with IA personnel to arrive at sensible and effective solutions
Perform integrations with network devices, such as VPN, firewall, routing
Create, analyze and automate Linux scripts (Command, Bash, C, Ansible)
This is an Agile/Kanban environment
Provide technical cross-training/coaching to more junior colleagues to convey concepts and to provide any guidance needed.
Your voice matters! Provide valued input into CDM and DHS processes and procedure to ensure others who follow in your footsteps have a clear, easy to follow path toward implementation successes.
Work independently or on very small teams to integrate systems and solutions, triage issues, and prioritize tasks.
Provision, install, configure, “be a detective” and other things on multiple network device types on both public and private VM and hardware infrastructures.
Create and manage technical solutions. Provide in-depth understanding of content as well as (in some cases) produce your own.
You may be asked to attend meetings, obtain credentials, etc. Virtually (with and without a camera), in a CACI or government office at any time
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship required
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be successfully obtain to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EOD authorization. Active DoD clearance preferred, but not required.
Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a technical discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering) or equivalent years of related job experience
10+ years of cumulative demonstrated work experience in the following disciplines:
Strong engineering experience integrating and troubleshooting servers in a Linux environment (CentOS/RHEL preferred)
Experience securing Linux systems by following STIGs, best practices, and government/compliance requirements (such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, FISMA, FEDRAMP), and working with IA personnel to arrive at effective solutions.
Hands-on experience creating, analyzing, and automating Linux scripts (Command, Bash, C, Ansible)
Experience with a distributed version control system, such as GitHub / GIT
Knowledge of Agile and/or Kanban
Experience briefing technical and non-technical customers and answering technical questions
Experience with in-depth systems administration in Linux environments (RHCE equivalence
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Technical degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related subject area
Relevant Technical and/or Security Certifications (e.g. CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCNA-Security, etc.)
One (1) of the following certifications: Azure DevOps Engineering Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Security Engineer Associate
Understands and intuits "why things work", not just the ability to follow installation and configuration guides
Experience integrating/understanding Multi-factor authentication (MFA, 2MFA)
Experience with enhance data protection and compliance. (such as OpenSSL, Keystores, Azure Key Vault, Cyphers)
Experience with network integrations and concepts such as VPN, firewall, routing
Proven communication skills both written and verbal to management
Familiarity with common cybersecurity tools is greatly desired. Our mission to support DHS in their cybersecurity needs, inclusive of identifying and preventing culprits from accessing systems/data that they shouldn’t is a high priority focus for our team.
Experience with VMWare (implementing, managing, configuring)
Some experience (1+ years’) with any or all of the following products or technologies: MS SQL, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Qualys, SCCM, BigFix, MDM solutions
Some experience (1+ years’) setup and integration with IIS, SQL Server
System admin level understanding of Windows server/ADFS environments
Experience integrating, securing, and understanding the following Microsoft platform services (both in Windows OS and in Azure Cloud): Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS), Active Directory Federated Services (ADFS), Windows AD-integrated PKI, Single Sign On (SSO) implementation

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $93,300-$200,500. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
