CACI International Senior Software Engineer / AWS Architect in Remote (Any State), Virginia
CACI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer / AWS Architect to support the National Syndromic Surveillance Program within the Center for Surveillance, Epidemiology and Laboratory Services (CSELS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) . The Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance (DHIS) is one of the four divisions in CSELS. The primary mission of the DHIS is to advance the science and practice of public health informatics and surveillance. It serves as a focal point at CDC for addressing common issues and advancing best practices in the fields of public health informatics and surveillance, and manages public health surveillance systems with cross-cutting utility for multiple CDC programs.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Lead a medium-to-large team performing tasking in conducting system performance monitoring and evaluations for data processing and user query/analysis within a cloud environment of 2,000+ users.
Monitor system availability and performance per established procedures and thresholds, to include but not limited to: server hardware performance for transactional data processing and query/analysis processing, relevant database architectures optimized for transactional processing and analytical processing.
Actively monitor data processing activities, including inbound data processing, the data processing workflow form data receipt through ingestion into analytical applications, and query and analysis performance to identify, report, and resolve issues interrupting the expected performance that introduce delays in data processing or analysis production.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field of study or equivalent plus a minimum 10 years of related work experience.
Must have experience supporting cloud environments of 1,000+ users (AWS is preferred).
Strong experience in configuring, managing, and administering server infrastructure to support high volume (100 million+ records/year) data processing system in which a variety of user interfaces support user access, query, analysis, and report generation.
Minimum of three years of experience in system architecture (for architecture and design activities) and system administration (for monitoring, response, and related operational activities).
Experience with the following: Red Hat Linux based OS servers, Microsoft Windows Server (2012 and above), Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services , Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise (including Analysis Services 2016 and above), MySQL, NotePad ++, Perl, Source Tree, Tripwire, WinMerge, WinDirStat Directory, Apache HTTPD, apparmor, Cron-apr, Denyhosts, Git, Logwatch, Access and Management Center (AMC).
Must be able to obtain a NACI clearance.
Must be within 1 hour distance of office location.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with any of the following a plus: Adminer, Jira, R Studio Server Pro, ESSENCE, SAS, SAS Web Studio, PHhIN-MS, Mirth.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
