Job Description

The organization has developed the foundation to transition legacy customer supported applications to a complete DevSecOps Cloud Infrastructure. The team is in the process of transitioning services to a dynamic scalable enterprise solution. The candidate for this position will primarily translate current customer technical requirements into a Cloud-based solution and develop a Splunk ecosystem.

The position will support the design of the client’s current hybrid legacy and cloud environment while focusing primarily on delivering new solutions in an AWS environment. The candidate should be able to demonstrate current knowledge using cloud formation to implement designs for production, staging, QA, and development cloud infrastructure running in secure and commercial environments.

The candidate must be knowledgeable in the software development life cycle and be able to design, document, test and assist with application migration. Experience with commercial AWS will be required. The candidate will also build out a Splunk ecosystem ensuring a robust, scalable, and efficient technical infrastructure as required to deliver integrated services adhering to enterprise application development and support requirements. The candidate will produce engineering documentation and migration procedures for both “on premise” and cloud environments that support both custom and COTS application suites. This system development work will be performed within an agile framework.

You have demonstrable previous experience with all of the following:

• Design of solutions using a secure AWS cloud architecture to implement customer enterprise application requirements or migrate existing systems from traditional infrastructure

• Implementation of AWS Cloud Formation solutions

• Design and deployment of a Splunk ecosystem in a hybrid environment (traditional bare metal and AWS cloud base)

• Creation of batch files using Web and Scripting languages

• Use of industry standard tools such Jira, Github, and Docker

• Adherence with DevSecOps commercial best practices

• Engineering, design, and deployment of server baselines for Linux/Unix platforms in a cloud environment

• Firsthand knowledge of current AWS cloud technology offerings (e.g. Lambda, S3, VMware Cloud, etc.)

• Production and delivery of documentation for new cloud systems or “on premise” hosted systems

• Installation and validation of new builds on virtual Windows and Linux/Unix systems in a cloud environment

• Development and execution of tests in an AWS environment ensuring systems meet documented user requirements

• Performing problem identification, analysis, and resolution and providing an O&M group with Tier 3 and troubleshooting support

• Publication of technical white papers focused on transitioning non-technical customer-based requirements to cloud-based solutions

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate

• Splunk Certified Architect

• 12 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma

• 10 Years of job related experience and Associate degree

• 8 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree

• 6 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree

• 4 Years of job related experience and Doctorate

You may have the following skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work as part of an integrated team

• Experience in implementing small to large scale custom development and/or systems integration projects in one or more phases of the software development life cycle

• Experience with Microsoft Office and Visio tools

• Understanding of the security processes and procedures followed by the IC Community

• Creation and maintenance of Cloud Formation scripts
