More About the Role:
Conceptualize, design, and produce fabrication solutions for operational requirements
Utilize one or more of the designated fabrication disciplines (Wood, Metal, Textiles, Polymers, and 3D Printing utilizing computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)) to develop and fabric solutions for the customer.
Resolve integration and testing issues
Applying interdisciplinary engineering skills in the technical planning, fabrication, verification and validation, risk analysis, and effectiveness
Support the design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance
Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into technical specifications.
Interface with external entities and other government organization and agencies.
Provide recommendations and deliver reports
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Current TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph within last 5 years
Minimum of fifteen years of related experience, or thirteen years of related experience and a relevant college Associate’s degree, or eleven years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree
Skill and knowledge to conceptualize, design, and produce fabrication solutions for operational requirements utilizing one or more of the designated fabrication disciplines (Wood, Metal, Textiles, Polymers, and 3D Printing utilizing computer-aided design (CAD)/computer-aided manufacturing (CAM))
Woodworking experience such as period reproduction furniture, furniture design and traditional woodworking skills. Required to work wood projects from raw stock to finished items
Textiles experience including scratch fabrication, repair, and modification.
Metal working experience such as machinists with experience in relevant fields such as mold and die making or machine shop operator.
Polymer experience such as Silicon mold construction, injection molding processes, composites sealing, and adhesives applications for bonding nontraditional materials.
Previous deployment experience including deployments to austere environments
Be able to travel CONUS and OCONUS for TDYs, and to deploy from 6 months to a year at military bases and conflict zones
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
CAD/CAM utilization experience in construction of concealment furniture.
Blueprint and draft modification experience
CAD/CAM utilization to include laser cutter and embroidery machines and computer numerical code (CNC) sewing machines.
Skill with leather working and vinyl materials
Textiles concealment device production
Ability to manufacture mold, dies and reproduce machine parts from existing components. Metal concealment device production experience. Possess traditional welding and cutting experience along with sheet stock manufacture.
Ability to modify existing parts and components along with the ability to reproduce manufactured items to enable repair or modification of existing item. Working knowledge relating to manufacture of working part assembly processes.
