Data Visualization Engineer to support data collection optimization processes supporting the generation of data points based on multiple data sources. You will be a key contributor supporting the data collection and data reporting efforts of customer requirements to include validation of collected data points.

Job Responsibilities

• Research, classify and implement solutions to enable data extractions and transformation for predictive or prescriptive modeling.

• Identify data sources to develop automated solutions to improve mission operations.

• Perform complex data analysis and validation of data collection processes within the target demographic.

• Develop processes to generate data metrics supporting the validation of existing and new procedures.

• Analyze raw data to develop datasets providing data points for metric and report generation supporting the validation of existing processes and procedures.

• Classify and generate data-points based on data metrics supporting on-going efforts.

• Partner with customers and support-staff, from diverse perspectives and backgrounds, to assist in the identification of process and procedural shortfalls.

• Assist in the generation of corrective actions and generate data metrics demonstrating results supporting quality assurance of data.

• Create and maintain information dashboards, data generators, canned reports and other end-user information portals or resources.

• Perform over related duties as assigned.

Required Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

• Prior experience and proficiency with products such as Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) and PowerBI.

• Prior experience presenting data findings in dashboards, presentations and commonly used visualization platforms.

• Proficiency with programming and scripting concepts.

• Strong understanding of databases and database structures to include data modeling principles with specific knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL on AWS/Azure cloud.

• Advanced SQL knowledge including experience with relational databases and query authorizing to include familiarity with cloud provided database structures.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable way.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative and dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field.

• Graduate degree in Data Science or other quantitative field is preferred.

• Five (5)+ years of Data Scientist or equivalent experience working with data.

• Prior experience and knowledge of data visualization tools such as Kibana/ElasticSearch and PowerBI.

• Practical experience with data analysis and exploration, especially with diverse data sets.
