CACI International Technical Writer in Reston, Virginia
Seeking a skilled Technical Writer with Knowledge Management experience. Do you enjoy helping your fellow team members improve efficiency by reducing the need to rediscover knowledge? Your success is our success.
You will work closely with front office staff to define documentation standards and templates. You will serve as a technical communicator, who creates, gathers, analyzes, stores and shares knowledge focusing on developing, gathering, and disseminating technical information across the IT organization.
You will author Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Tactics, Techniques and Protocols (TTPs), and other process documentation. Resulting products will become the documented technical foundation of SMEs and Operations personnel.
You will have the following:
Experience in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
Experience in Visio
SharePoint administration experience
5 years of technical writing experience: Write, edit, review, and organize all technical written materials including organization of key sections, tables, exhibits, and attachments, providing graphic/layout assistance to help ensure that a quality product is produced.
Acquire subject knowledge through various methods to include interviewing technical specialists, development team members and/or through observation of the same.
Support organization content management systems, including Wikis, Help files and Frequently Asked Questions, and SharePoint.
Take ownership of organizational documentation standards including program management, reporting, practices and procedures, and technical documentation.
Author and review technical documents (including knowledge base articles, manuals, reports and other documentation) for accuracy and adherence to defined standards.
Identify, validate, and publish Knowledge Base content through research of existing data stores and interviews with staff.
Assist in technical or business presentations as business or customer needs require.
Ability to produce clear and concise documentation.
Ability to prioritize requests, set expectations for task completion, and provide task status.
Have meticulous attention-to-detail and effective professional correspondence.
Ability to work effectively on several projects simultaneously, independently and with groups.
Have knowledge and ability to implement version control management processes.
Possess strong collaboration, organizational, and project-management skills.
Work closely with engineers and technical team leads to document system launches and service transitions.
You will have the following certification:
- ITIL Foundations.
You will have one of the following:
10 Years of job related experience and High School/GED diploma
8 Years of job related experience and Associate degree
4-7 Years of job related experience and Bachelor’s degree
3 Years of job related experience and Master’s degree
2 Years of job related experience and Doctorate
You may have the following, but it's not required:
Understanding of the Project Management Framework (PMF)
Experience with high visibility projects
Experience working with infrastructure partners
Able to work independently with minimal supervision in a high paced environment
Knowledge of the Sponsor’s organization, mission, and partners
9:30am to 3:30pm
