The Quality Technician will support the Quality Team across the operations enterprise by validating compliance of material and assemblies to drawing and specification requirements. This position requires a broad range of experience that includes mechanical hardware, cables, antennas, circuit boards and flex circuit assemblies. This position offers a “hands on” opportunity to the candidate who possesses a broad quality background with proven ability to work as part of a team and across the manufacturing organization.
More About the Role:
Conduct incoming inspections of supplier materials including mechanical and electronic assemblies.
Conduct pre-shipment audits/inspections of completed customer systems.
Drive corrective actions for material nonconformances using Quality Alerts and Corrective Action tools.
Coordinate operation of a Glenbrook 70T X-Ray inspection system.
Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and help drive action items to closure.
Facilitate quality containment activities on purchased material, subassemblies or finished goods as required.
Communicate quality issues effectively with suppliers, engineers, and operations team members.
Support the implementation, review, and improvement of the Mastodon Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that processes and products comply with applicable quality and customer requirements.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
2-4 years mechanical parts and electrical (circuit board) assembly inspection experience
Ability to validate compliance of mechanical parts and electrical (circuit board) assemblies per drawing specifications, IPC standards and purchase order requirements
Relatable Associates Degree and 3 years of experience in Quality Control inspection of mechanical parts and electronic assemblies.
Experience with SMT and circuit board manufacturing including visual inspection to IPC Class 2 standards.
Current or recent (2-4 years) IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification.
Metrology experience including proficiency in use of measuring tools such as height gauge, calipers, micrometers, pin and thread gauges, etc.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiarity with X-Ray inspection of circuit board assemblies.
Supplier Quality experience a plus.
Strong analytical skills coupled with the ability to communicate effectively with various groups within the organization.
Broad background of experience weighted heavy in manufacturing and quality processes, proven ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
