CACI’s Mastodon Design team is currently seeking a full-time Mechanical Systems Design Engineer to support the design and manufacture of ruggedized military systems and products.
More about this role:
Design, manage, and maintain custom cable and antenna assemblies working with subcontractors and suppliers as the main POC.
Researching, designing, prototyping and verifying new system accessories.
Develop and write technical documentation, revisions to existing documentation, and inputs for technical white papers.
Creating mechanical cost and schedule estimates as well as contributing to technical writeups for proposal efforts.
Mechanical design and execution for program related efforts following defined program requirements. Typically entails designing custom apparatuses or accessories for integration into land, air, or sea platforms, creating and executing verification & validation plans.
Participating and contributing in program specific customer reviews (SDR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
Maintaining and supporting existing cables and accessories.
You’ll bring these Qualifications:
US citizenship is required to be eligible for security clearance and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance if necessary
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering/technical discipline from an accredited engineering school
3 or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience with Solidworks design software.
Proficient with Microsoft office tools
Ability to work independently and across departments to support all stakeholders within the company
Ability to successfully multitask and manage large volumes of data
Strong attention to detail with attention to accurate documentation.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience designing cables, shock mounts, and accessories for military vehicular and dismount systems.
Familiarity with MIL-STDs such as MIL-STD-810, 461, 464 etc.
Experience preforming Verification and Validation testing principles on military products.
Familiarity with T&Cs, SOWs, CDRL, and SDRLs.
Strong understanding of quality process, configuration management principles, and proper change tracking.
Experience or familiarity with custom mechanical part design and fabrication.
Experience and comfortable working with end customers from all branches of the military.
Up to 10% CONUS travel required.
