Cyber Security Intern (Spring 2024)

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Under direct supervision and guidance, work closely with other interns, as well as seasoned engineers, on projects that expose them to leading edge technologies.

More About the Role:

  • Perform work under close mentor guidance including but not limited to:

  • Solve complex problems in an efficient and unique manner.

  • Responsible for preforming vulnerability testing on cyber ranges.

  • Provide detailed information on network environments created.

  • Assist in development of IT systems.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • If Undergraduate or Graduate, pursing a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,or related field is preferred, not required.

  • Experience working on physical or virtual networks, including infrastructure installation or cloud deployments.

  • Strong networking background – Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

  • Experience using Ansible or other configuration management tools.

  • Experience with making configuration changes on switches, routers, and firewalls.

  • Experience with systems and network monitoring tools.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • This is a hybrid role in the San Antonio, TX area. Position will be on-site Monday – Wednesday.

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not required

  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)

Must currently be enrolled in High School OR a full-time Undergraduate, Graduate, or Doctorate Student.

Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearance.
